In live Genesis performances after Gabriel left when they played the intro of dancing like this, they referred to it just as selling England by the pound. So technically with Genesis he’s correct

Gotta love these two together -- seems like a total no-brainer! Love Peter singing backup and playing keyboards on Sting's song. So humble, Peter. btw yes, the first song is "Dancing With the Moonlit Knight" from the album Selling England By the Pound (1973) by Genesis.

But, I guess you had to be there, which you fools apparently weren't.... Hollywood Bowl 2016, a great night, to be sure! To those bitching about the spoken intro at the beginning, sorry if it pissed you off, but...Seriously, I have absolutely NO problem with Sting pausing to make a brief comment about Brexit here, especially since it apparently had, for him, personal relevance to the next two songs. Doesn't mean you have to agree with him. If it freaks you out, try to remember that Rock 'n Roll musicians have been waxing political behind the mic for at least a half a century now, and will continue to do so in the next decade beyond, and so on. There are countless examples, from The Byrds and Jefferson Airplane to The Clash, to PIL, and so on...Doesn't mean you have to agree with everything they say. But at the end of the day, people should be able to say whatever the f*ck they want-on, or off stage. The only exception I see is if the artist stops the show cold, to make the fans sit thought a long, rambling political speech, and completely kills the mood. But that RARELY ever happens *knock on wood

Good point. The odd comment is fair enough. Unlike the last U2 tour where Bonio made it a feature. Not much point in preaching to the converted and fans didn't pay to hear a party political broadcast.

***** I don't know why Sting feels the need to bitch and moan about the Brexit vote at the start of this song during every concert on this tour. Brexit is democracy at work at its finest. Britain has spoken and made its choice, but for some reason Sting feels the need to ridicule it just because he doesn't like the outcome of the vote. He has become a liberal elitist who is so ultra rich that he is completely out of touch with the issues faced by commoners who he views as less intelligent than him. Typical liberal elitist.
