Good luck Scott. I've lived in South Florida for a 35-years now in Delray Beach. Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach are 15 minutes north and south of me. I would say there's probably a lot more to do here then there is where you are in Florida. I live in an over 55 development now, I said I never would but after four single family homes down here, the last one being in very funky artsy downtown Lake Worth just north of me, which is like a tropical Greenwich Village and there's a lot going on, but I wanted peace and quiet at this point and that's what we got moving in here. To be honest, in the four years we've owned this condo, none of the old farts LOL have bugged us at all and we haven't been inundated with rules or anything like that. The place is extremely well-run and very mid-century modern, and we're just 5 minutes to downtown Delray and the ocean and about 20 minutes to Fort Lauderdale, where I went the other night to see Blondie in concert which was phenomenal. I could never live in Central Florida or anywhere like that. To be honest with you, my heart is really in Southern California where I lived as a kid and as crazy as this may sound to some people, I would move back there if I had the money and wasn't 67 years old. Went back to LA for vacation four years ago and it felt like home and I loved every second of it. Yes I am aware of the problems but I still love it. Anyway good luck.

My grandma used to live in a retirement community just like this in Spring Hill, Florida. The people who ran the place were ALWAYS rude for no reason. They would even get pissed when residents would have visitors. Back in the early 90's, I remember an employee not letting me play ping pong at the clubhouse because I wasn't 18 years old. How lame! Anyways, I wish you the best of luck. You should come move to the metro Detroit area! Housing is affordable! Plus, you'd always be close to Canada.
