Oil changing place I have been there about 5 times and these young men are always buying. I’m seeing these young black men in a different light and they are spending $ for the ladies in their lives. Had one guy asking if I could take care of his 2 dtrs. Said he would give extra for my trouble. Black men love their ladies. I had 2 guys holding up traffic so I jumped out and asked them about popping my truck since they were holding me up from my sales. They laughed at me.

YOU got this I was in the gift business for 26 yrs and started from nothing! Check with some of your malls and ask for a seasonal kiosk cart contract most malls are looking for people to do a seasonal cart. Also, find 2 or 3 people doing something similar and split the cost for the cart and the time being there.

I set up yesterday and it was slow, sold a total of 2 baskets. I blame it on being the day before most people's payday and still 5 days before Valentine's. Hopefully this weekend will be fire! Good luck, Love and to all out there hustling 💜

I did Valentine's day for years my biggest sales holiday. People wait until the last minute and then it gets CRAZY!!! I was in a mall on a temporary contract and other places and I even sold after Valentine's day because some guys were in trouble.

@@laurenmurphy1776 I realize times are tough but be led by the SPIRIT before reducing your prices. Someone wouldn't go to the grocery store to buy $100 worth of food with $40 and expect it to be given to them. People go shopping because they have the money to do so, just because you are on the streets doesn't mean allowing people to talk you down in price or feel like you have to. Business is just that BUSINESS! Sometimes we get anxious and start thinking we aren't going to make money but believe me pray and God will be there, if not this time at the appropriate time because his word NEVER fails. Be safe and for other holiday gift baskets season consider setting up a temporary contract kiosk in the mall or at a flea market those 2 areas worked for me very well in the past.

Another good idea is to make flyers and go hang flyers on people's doors letting them know you have baskets especially if you stay in a apartment community. Gotta hustle how you gotta hustle you know. Same way people love putting they cards on ppls cars same way get out there and hang up some flyers on ppls doors.

If you put some plastic down you won't have to worry about the mud on the tables or put a plastic bag over the table legs to keep it from getting muddy

You can always go to different stores ahead of time for the next holidays to you know you have a spot leave a business card with the owner then check back a few weeks ahead to remind them that you're coming to set up so you won't have any problems just in case that person isn't there

Very good idea to ask ahead of Valentine’s Day with some people saying to say no just because you’re asking them for something they feel like you need them and they don’t want to make promises so I just like to show up when I’m ready but that is a good idea to go ahead of time ❤️

Yeah if they haven't sold any just wait people wait until the last minute. I was in a mall on Buford Highway and I was the last one to leave on Valentine's and Mother's Day. Security told me they would let people out as I finished with them if I would give them something of course I said yeah because it was a lot of people waiting. Next year check with some of your malls and ask for a temporary contract for 3 days on a kiosk it's really not expensive, also get a vendor's license then they can't chase you away because the license will show them where you can set up at. Some malls will let you set up for a week or two on a temporary contract.

When I lived in Dallas I called one very close to me and she was so happy and told me to come right over and look at the sections she had and to sign the contract. When I lived in Atlanta my first Valentine's season kiosk in 1996 was at Plaza Fiesta on Buford Highway it was under a different name then. Then in 2003, I rented a flea market-type space with Plaza Fiesta for about 7 months. I hear it has gotten pretty dangerous now with gangs. Call them anyway and ask for their other locations.

I signed up as a merchant but you have to have a commercial address. Your house would have to be zone is a commercial address you can’t do it at your house.

Girl, I wish I was still in Atlanta we would team up and split the cost of a kiosk and make bank! I taught balloon decorating and one year I team up with 2 of my students at the last minute and we made a little money. If I had planned it earlier we would have made good decent money but I taught them to go and get a temp contract and how to set up a kiosk. You are in a good position because you got a lot of help and being on a seasonal contract kiosk is what you need. South Dekalb mall if it's still there I know use to do the seasonal contracts. If you have a Cricut machine I would personalize balloons, t-shirts, mugs, plastic containers and other items. People love something with their name or a special message on it made just for them. It was some guys that worked for CDC and I made money just making special stuffed balloons for them.

@@sabrinaalston1243 A seasonal contract is usually anywhere from 3 days up to 2 weeks for most holidays. Sometimes between Thanksgiving and Christmas, you can get one for a month. Most malls have them and are usually looking for someone with seasonal items to rent a kiosk. You just have to make sure your kiosk stays fully stocked and looks nice. Having 2-4 people who might do a little something similar is ideal because you have to be opened doing mall hours or otherwise get fined. For instance for Valentine's, someone does gift baskets, flowers, balloons, stuffed balloons or. Also, be sure to check with your smaller grocery stores for space.

If you have a Cricut machine I would do some items like T-shirts, mugs, and small picture frames all with theme messages like who invented what and get some nice journals, candles or other items and put them together to make gift baskets.
