Great tips. Curious what’s the strongest way to keep the string lights connected? I’ve Mcguyvered an improvised string tie, but there must be a coupler that exists? I fear them detaching and falling with the weight of the lights - especially in strong winds.

They’re at Michaels. I bought some today. They have a pointy bottom like to go in the ground and a flat thing that would go down to ground level, so I’m trying to figure out what to do about that flat thing. ***Update. That flat piece has a semi circle cut out so I used that against our trex deck railing which is like black iron dowels and then zip tied the posts to them. Also at the very top where the lights go through, my husband ended up drilling a hole in the top all the way through. There’s a hole in one side so he simply went all the way through and then used a zip tie to old the lights in because one good wind or birds landing on the wires will make them sag. Looks great.

What hook did you use to mount on your house? I have similar siding and looks like a pain to drill anything on

No hole vinyl hook?

It’s like those picture hanger things where they are plastic and have a hook and it’s usually a 3M product. You could hang it on a window or door or wall and hang something on the hook. Then when you’re done with it, you pull that paper/plastic stretch thing under the bottom to remove it and it leaves no mark. But I won’t stick in the hot summer. I tried today. So ended up using four posts and a big square of lights. Looks nice!

@@feliciasandoval2423 hi I bought mine from Michaels. I do see some on Amazon but they’re not exactly the same. We used zip tied to fasten to the deck pillars/rails.

How is this a DIY? These are regular light poles you buy online at full price. The point of a DIY is to spend less for the same look by making it yourself 😑
