Mising is one of the many tribes who migrated and settled in Assam as perused in history.
Sello:ya, in Mising community, is a popular song dated back to the time of migration which narrates the journey of settlement. Rtd Addl DGP Mr Nabin Payeng, an inquisitive on culture interest, from Arunachal Pradesh specify few words from the song to have changed over the course of time. From his personal understanding he explains how the words supposed to be in reference to the settlement story sung in the song.

Mising in Meitei (Manipuri) language means group of people or group of humans...very interesting let's search in each others if any common elements we find...we Meitei have 7 clans they are Mangang, Lu Wang, khuman/kuman, Angom/Agom,Moirang, khaba Nganba and Sarang(Cheng lei).There also sub clan of Chakpa which consists of Phayeng/Payeng, Andro, Sekmai etc.

Mising or Mishing *migrated* to Assam is a very wrong concept and sentenced improperly used here in the video I guess. The state of Assam was formed after the divisions only after 1963 other wise all of the North Eastern part of India was more or less called Assam by British or the Mughals. The Mishing's or Mising or Miri tribe a sub tribe of ABOTANI (means the First man) people are here living in their own land from the time immemorial THE real SON OF THE SOIL as they are mostly settled in the siang river belt which when enters present Assam is known as Brahmaputra. All the stories, songs and music are related mostly to this river for fertile land. The Ane(Mother) Donyi=Sun ☀ and The Abo(Father) Moon=Polo 🌙 the original God which they believe in their festivals and rituals still practiced on the name. Tribal culture around the world we know always prays mother nature. Mising people also do the same. If somehow they are migrated then it would have been way before time no one knows. So it is a very wrong concept of putting words that Mising's migrated to Assam what I believe Assam included Mising tribe in there state because of its inclusive nature. As *per used* in Assam History seems bit of misplaced and amass together in a mundane way.

Nowadays mishing peoples wear n bear others dress code like mekhla sahdr which makes no difference in assamese dress n miheng dress... N we get confused and worried about it...

Ya I agree we Mishing should adopt our own tribal dress which our ancestor used to wear, otherwise there will be no difference between we Mishing tribe people and other general non tribal people wearing saree. I think we Mishing are the only NE tribe people who wear outfit similar to that of mekhela sadar, Saree etc. Why shouldn't we Mishing people have own designed tribal outfit instead of Agé Gasor which looks similar to Saree, mekhela etc.

I think Mishing people have some connection with Chakpa (Angom clan) of Meitei like Sekmai/Sengmai, Andro,Phayeng/Payeng, khur-khul etc. Selloi Langmai Ching and nearby valley was their origin place.Mishing's living style, food habits is very much same with Andro Sekmai Phayeng etc.
