I’m glad she gave it a try, but I would have been shocked had she finished the season. Following her journey I have seen her struggles and was blown away she joined the cast given the toll this competition takes on a persons body. Bravo for going for it Selma! You did a fabulous job.

As someone who also suffers from an autoimmune disease, I applaud Selma for even taking this challenge on. I know how important it is to keep stress levels as low as possible to help prevent flares, and just the stress of learning the dances week after week had to be grueling and physically exhausting. Bravo, Selma and Sasha, for toughing it out as long as you did in this competition and then make such a graceful exit. Your son is so proud of his mama! 👍❤🙏

Watching Selma was totally amazing. She touched the hearts of millions as each week she performed exquisitely all while 6enduring pain, flare ups etc from MS. I commend Selma for doing DWTS and wish her the best. I watched her documentary too & that really hit me hard. I appreciate Selma for opening up & showing us what her life is like now and then. I feel for her son, you can see the love & care he has for his mother at such a young age- he certainly does adore his mama.💜 My mother-in-law had MS since her 30s, although I didn't know her until my husband & I met in 2000. It was an honor to have her in my life & my kids lives. Last July 2021, we lost my mother-in-law who. I wish I had known her sooner. My heart goes out to those whom have MS and their loved ones especially the ones by their side day in & day out. Love & prayers to all. 💕

I applaud her improvement and her bringing more attention to MS, but what isn’t being discussed much is, due to her celebrity status, Blair has received specialized MS treatments which 90% of MS patients cannot receive. Treatments which insurance will not cover or are very expensive. I wish some media attention would be brought which would allow more MS patients access to those treatments. They obviously have been effective.

I used to have neck crepitus issues. At one point, those pops kept me from practicing the head-to-the-left in ballroom dancing, but it was not related to MS but it was close. I was even afraid of doing ballroom dancing fearing that I could hear pops in the neck again and feel it. I used to love Dancing With The Stars since I was a college-level ballroom dancer and dancesport competitor too. My neck is better now and I am dancing again. However.... Selma Blair's exit from Dancing With The Stars - -this is sad - my guess is that with MS---this is a two-fold meaning. MS refers to sclerotic damage to the nerve's myelin sheath (MS) due to autoantibodies in the immune system damaging it, but it also means "multiple areas of fibrosis or damage caused by inflammation"--or hardening - hence multiple sclerosis. My guess is that the nerves of the vestibular area or even the brain need to be in top shape for one to ballroom dance. If those nerves are way off in health in MS, you risk serious things like serious brain fog, serious missteps, being off balance seriously - or even falling down hard on the dance floor and end up seriously hurt. We will miss Selma on the dance floor. This also refers to Simone Biles forcing herself to bow out from competing in over half of her Olympic gymnastics events due to the twisties. I am glad that Simone admitted to the twisties to prevent herself from completely losing one's balance in the aerial gymnastics tricks and end up very badly hurt, and end up possibly in a wheelchair.

@jld48702 жыл бұрын
And underneath so many autoimmune disorders is unresolved trauma that affects the entire body, it is an indication of the condition of humanity. I am glad Selma and Simone listened to their bodies and hope they find some comfort and best case scenario some healing in all the love they have received.
