I really like the Jazz Flow Alto, I own the 5. What would be an alternative on tenor?
@SaxSpy9 ай бұрын
mmm maybe a gs reso or bss r series. the tenor soloist seems to have its own character
@lushsoundscape9 ай бұрын
@SaxSpy how would you describe the soloist character vs something like the gs reso?
@SaxSpy9 ай бұрын
@@lushsoundscape a soloist can have a hard, dry sound especially down low, but warm up with subtone. the resos tend to always be round, warm and fluid.

the shank looks super interesting

its similar to the selmer concept, definitely easy to see from afar

@@SaxSpy I can definitely see that, I wonder if it has any effect on the sound or if its just a neat design

I’ve made the Selmer Jazz Flow 7 my main mouthpiece, I actually prefer it to my new release New York Meyer because it has less resistance and is a bit brighter but not V16 over the top bright. Jay at Better Sax claimed that the low notes don’t speak lol, and I find the opposite: low notes sub tone effortlessly, altissimo is way easier than my Meyer and my TT 7 that I got from Roberto’s (which is a custom 3D printed Meyer fat boy kind of clone, if I’m not mistaken). Selmer Jazz Flow, great mpc at a reasonable price.

what size meyer did you try?

@@SaxSpy I own a Meyer connoisseur 7 and I played on vanilla Meyer 5 for years.
