I play classical and some jazz also on my suprème. I bought this sax mainly because of its classic sound. It is a typic lyrical sound that I do not find with other saxes. Sound for jazz is ok. It is expensive but it is the choice that I made. I will never regret this or sell this sax. It grows on me every day 👍🏻

I love the Supreme and if I played classical at all I would purchase one. That being said you are right it’s the most do it all Sax on the market.

Have played for some 50 years. I've had many MK VI's, Yamahas, etc. I bought the Supreme this year and it plays like a dream. Spot on intonation is the biggest advantage...flawless keywork and a gorgeous sound. It is a darker yet richer sound. Classical or jazz? To me, you're talking about style with that. If you're a jazz player this horn will suit that style very well. My '68 Mk VI has a very bright tone next to the supreme. Maybe it's my age, but I prefer the Supreme tone over it. But there's a place for both in my humble opinion. The only way my Supreme gets sold will be by my heirs.

I am a Selmer fan, I have a Mark VI, VII, Super Action 80 II. Ill have to play it to see how versatile it is🎷

As more and more promotion of Supreme, Alto and tenor it's obvious that it's not good for its money, l also hate bling bling gold lacquering and don't like super classic sound. Waiting with great interest what the folks say after an year or two, how valuable it will be.

Not that it matters, the engraving is done by machine. Selmer posted a video of the process. It sure is a beautiful alto.

Have you played it next to a Yanagisawa AW020 bronze or their silver/brass horns? My horns-soprano, alto, tenor, are Yanagisawa. They are really in tune. Love to hear a comparison.
