I knew ‘something, was gonna happen when you had it rehanded about half way through the video. Good thoughts on how to ‘handle’ the situation and nice fix.

Excellent recovery from an "Oops". That "job" now took a "bit" of extra time with surely a few "choice nasty" words. Well done, Thanks for sharing

It’s amazing how quickly you can go from “it’s going to be fine” to “oh crap” in this line of work!

Great save with the drill and tap job! Best mortis locks can be pretty finicky.

You have a very nice aerosol sound effect. Thx for the Video. (A tad too much tappy tap tap). Nice recovery.

Nicely done. Have Done the same sort of repair myself lol. I always try to show the customer what went wrong or failed when I take their lock out but it’s not always possible… in the UK we have a radar lock system for disabled toilets so you have a radar key that should work in any disabled bathroom in the country. When people try to force the door that latch part (looks similar ) gets bent

I always snap a picture of the inside configuration before I touch anything. Has saved me many times. Especially Baldwin cases when parts like to pop out.

I failed to point that out in this video, but yeah there is no point NOT doing that, everyone has a camera right there with them!

That latch was probably cracked already, and you just finished it by hitting it the other direction. looks like it will work but you won't know until the latch has several actual door closings against the latch to retract it, the sideways impact is what cracked it in the first place, or somebody trying to force the door. It would probably last until a replacement could be ordered. have a great day

Once a customer insisted a lot and insistently persisted that I help her, her lock was jamming, I found the problem which was a solid internal plate of the main lock that had bent due to misuse and her lack of skill in handling the door causing pressure when closing the door and when I tried to straighten it out it broke, I had to give her a new lock and she didn't even show gratitude, she just wanted a new one arrogantly without caring, after that I never again insisted much on helping someone who just doesn't want to have to spend money insisting on useless repairs.
