As is pretty much always the case, this is absolute gold content you can't find anywhere else. Thanks Jason.

Thanks for making such a detailed video! I have the "swirly" door handle and my husband used the video to rekey it and make the thumb latch work which has never been able to move. No more making sure another door is unlocked or needing a key everytime we go outside. If the door is unlocked it will now open!

You mention in the video that there are pdf manuals available out there for very old Schlage products. I was wondering if you could point me in that direction. I'm refinishing a very old solid wood door that was pulled off a 1937 house. The handleset has Schlage 93 stamped on it. It still works great but I would like to have some info on it. Thank you.

I just came across about 8 of these Schlage locks today. They were on my grand parents house. A couple have the clip messed up. The one that actually holds the cylinder into the housing. Thats one thing I don’t think you mention anything about. In most cases you wouldn’t ever remove that clip. But maybe something to point out that these do use the same cylinders newer entry knobs.

I've got to get "handle sets" in my brain. I keep calling them lever handles. I have one of these re-keys on the horizon. Thanks for clear how to!

myself, i refer to them as "handle grips".

@10:34 Did you say, "Butt plug, if you need it."?
@selock2 жыл бұрын
Schlage deadbolts used to have little metal disks to uhhh plug the butt of the cylinder so that’s the name I give it 🤷♂️

I have a Schlage E51 series Murchinson that is original to the home. Recently, the captured cam that is engage by the cylinder bar became deformed and fell out and the exterior thumb push lever no longer works. Any ideas where I can find a replacement chasis & plunger (p/n 05-015 - I think)? Thanks, Kevin

What do you like to use when having to cover the oval opening for a different lock type?

I watched one of your way earlier videos on all the E series Handles you used to have. WOW amazing and very impressive. "They don't make that quality stuff anymore" Too bad for a lost era. Thanks for sharing -- Good info

Lesson from this one, when in doubt poke anything that looks like it could be poked until the lock comes apart. Also, couldn't you just mount the weiser (have ever you spell it) upside down to cover the oval hole 😜
