Hii sir ji i love music 🎼 🎹 “✨The kanjira, khanjira, khanjiri or ganjira, a South Indian frame drum, is an instrument of the tambourine family. As a folk and bhajan instrument, it has been used in India for many centuries💜❤️💜🎹🎼❤️🎹💕🎼💕

I am finding it difficult to tune. If I loosen enough to get the bass (low) note, the head material is vibrating. Is there a specific way to tune this Kanjira to get the proper bass tone as played in this video?

Why the microphone (MD421 on the left side of the screen) is pointing to the ceiling? Trying to avoid the transients of the slap? There are better microphones techniques ;) (let me know if you need some advice).

How could you mic aha a frame drum sir. May be 45degree??? The kanjira's soul is dependent on the bass and the sharp slap note. Might be ur advice helpful for me cos we do a lot of southindian carnatic shows.

@@kishoredkumar5151 yes, the MD421 pointed as you said will give you better slap and lows. If you are recording the kanjira alone, try different options and look for the one with the fullest sound; but if your are recording more than one instrument you’ll want to point it directly to the Kanjira, for more isolation, better articulation, etc. On this video you can see two mics, the dynamic one on the left (pointing to the ceiling) and a condenser mic on the right, behind, capturing a more roomy (let’s say “natural”) representation.
