A similar energy effficiency could be created on a single grid that spin around using gyros, there would be lift fans but they only need to activate when ship is ready to leave the bore hole.
@DoremiFasolatido19792 жыл бұрын
Essentially, have the lift thrusters like normal but only for exit, but no attitude thrusters, and just let the weight of the thing dig down while locked gyros keep it upright? Not a bad idea.

Suggestion for printable version (~ denotes temorpary connection): Core body with disconnected hinges and down piston ~ to leg thighs (hinge part + armour blocks + piston base) ~ to leg calves. Merge blocks should be created to attach the piston heads to the next stage. Feet can be added after or additional armour block added for temporary merge connection. Core body then ~ to drill rotor base. To merge drill's down piston with rotor, add small conveyor block to piston head, and merge block on the side of the rotor. Rotor base ~ to drill apparatus which will already have a piston head in the correct location. Merely grind down the temporary connection and then attach the rotor parts to each other. Drill's pistons on the mining rig can have their feet completed separately, or again merged to the main grid. This should allow you to make a single grid projection of this mining rig.

@@Pro100tv9 Can you please give me a clue on how? PAM is my preferred drone type, but I always thought that PAM and moving base connectors are incompatible by design.
@Pro100tv92 жыл бұрын
So this platform will go back to surface once it reaches the distance of 50 meters between itself and the carrier. I'm not certain about that, but I suspect that once it gets back on the surface it will be the exact (or hopefully close enough) spot as it entered the shaft. So if the PAM drone would be programmed to get into those coordinates, it could first save this position as the first stop(job start position), drop the miner, and then, once it completes the job, reconnect to it, and throught the sensor-timer combination start the cargo run. Please keep in mind that I didn't test this solution yet, so I cannot say that this will work for certain
@axelander_ish2 жыл бұрын
@@Pro100tv9 Sounds good, but it needs extensive testing. From my head it looks like final position may fluctuate a lot. Based on my previous experience with those pesky voxels :) Actually it may be good enough, if there will be static catching funnel on top of the shaft.

So complicated. My mining method just utilize custom turret controller. 1. Drill down straight to the ore deposit 2. Make mining shaft from conveyor tubes 3. Make custom turret with drill and pistons 4. On the surface, make wind turbines or solar panel with a battery. You can easily reach millions of ore before adding more piston to reach farther ore.
