Here are some samples of elegant semiautomatic ( and sometimes select fire) solutions of fire control found on the web/youtube.
Most of them easily DIY reproducible.
Many thanks and credits to the talented home style and professional gunsmiths who created these designs.
I always wanted to put such a compendium together.

those are made in MX, they are called "Poblanitas" as in "little Puebla" because they were initially made in Puebla, Mexico, that home made model is based on a popular model from Czechoslovakia and it has been very popular since then. These are hand made and not registered because the gun owning laws are very strict here in MX.

@@STEINBVG I'm surprised the polish PM63 fire control group design err idea. Of a long lever with contact points at the far end isn't more popular. Been thinking about building myself a bench rest rifle of the "auto ejecting single shot " variety

It,s not difficult to build open bolt self ejecting and self cocking single shot pistol or rifle. ( look up Winchester 55) Check out my videos about my single shot semiautomatic pistol model - a design I had borrowed and simplified from Fuzzbean’ Peashooter( look it up)

@@STEINBVG It's a pity that you don't have a drawing with dimensions. In the first minute of the video there is a diagram, where you can choose the sizes. But I would like to see a drawing of the details. I grew up in the USSR and we made a lot of different .22lr pistols. And now I also want to make an interesting toy))

It is clever. But the question is why bother. The creator is starting out with what is a .22 rifle action that fires from a closed bolt. What advantage is there to converting it to open bolt. I do not understand the language and so maybe that was explained. In the USA the ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms agency) does like open bolt firing guns. ATF claims it is too easy to convert to full auto. Just not worth the risk and there is no gain to it.

I borrowed this design, just made it simpler. In my videos I show the inventors gun. It disconnects well. When bolt caught by the sear., the pressure moves the sear toward the trigger, and they get reconnected. Trigger releases , clicks into the solid connection. Shoots, sear separates and independently of trigger catches the bolt.
