Am I the only one here really impressed with the idea of moving the magazine to safe the gun? To me that's a stroke of genius. Utterly out-of-the-box thinking.

Zonda wind (viento zonda) is a regional term for the feohn wind that often occurs on the eastern slope of the Andes, in Argentina. The Zonda is a dry wind (often carrying dust) which comes from the polar maritime air, warmed by descent from the crest, which is approximately 6,000 m (20,000 ft) above sea level. It may exceed a velocity of 40 km/h (25 mph).
@strangesignal97574 жыл бұрын
From Argentina, can confirm. But what's worth to mention is that because of the deserts and arid landscape of much of central-western Argentina, these zonda winds can lift up severe sand and dust storms throughout the region. Several battles of the argentine civil war were fought under these storms, like Angaco.

I remember my father had bought the first HAFDASA around 1952 , and it was really a pain in my ass. So many problems to fire a round and besides that , it was a heavy gun with almost no pointing devices , causing the shooter to fire with no sights. Now a days I have a Bersa BP9 CC, that is a compact gun that shows the evolution of a well design pistol.

If it wasn't illegal, could "resurrect" the concept but with an HK P7 style cocking lever on the grip, and the 'mag motion' safety built into the disconnector. Carry with an empty chamber (nobody would actually carry one of these, I know, but it's a mental exercise), unholster, squeeze the grip lever which runs the bolt back until it's past the disconnector/sear, at which point the magazine pops up into firing position and you're ready to go. Have a malfunction? Release and squeeze the grip again. I wonder if, with .22lr, you could get away with putting a firing pin protrusion on the chamber edge and crush the cartridge rim from the front side...
