I think a clear distinction needs to be made between CPU and memory chips manufacture. The US Ahas a market leadership with Micron Technology in the manufacture of DRAM chips to go alongside TSMC’s manufacture of NVIDIA’s GPUs. Micron also makes NAND RAM chips for non-volatile storage - SSDs etc and others in the market, such as Samsung, SK-Hynix, don’t completely dominate, leaving room for Micron to grow.
