Welcome to Dr. Coco’s Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic! Hope you have a wonderful night of restful sleep after this acupuncture treatment and herbal tea. **In case you ask** Yes I speak Mandarin-it’s a beautiful language :) I’m still learning and my accent and grammar aren’t great, but I’m hoping to continue to improve my skills to help future patients. My ethnicity is Central Asian Turkic. Hoping to make more videos showcasing my heritage too. I’m a naturopathic medical student, and among the many modalities we learn is Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is an ancient medicine used for thousands of years that has been increasingly shown in scientific research to be effective for many health conditions. Also, the fact that you're doing a Chinese themed video is really great considering there has been a lot of anti Chinese sentiment as of late. Showcasing your Mandarin skills and teaching us a bit about Chinese traditional medicine is really sweet and necessary right now in these times of anti Asian racism. Thank you!
@semideasmr4 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree. Anti-Chinese and anti-Asian racism is rising everywhere, and it's so sad to see and even witness. Hoping I can spread more love and pay tribute to the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I find this video fascinating. The intro is so nice how you set up the items on the tray. I like the segment when you ask questions and write down the answers. The sounds of the pen on paper is quite relaxing. I'm curious to know what language you spoke early in the video. That is so interesting that you said in Chinese medicine certain emotions are connected to certain body organs. By listening to you I can see that you are very intelligent and very knowledgeable on the traditional art of natural medicinal healing. I never experienced Acupuncture before, but wow, watching this video made me feel I experienced an Acupuncture session. You are that good and realistic in your roleplay here. I love the close ups of your gorgeous face. Your smile melts me. I love the sweet sound of your soothing voice. I felt so relaxed listening. This video is entertaining as well as informative.

Thank you for the lovely comment. Made my day as always! I was speaking Mandarin in the beginning :) Yes Traditional Chinese medicine is so fascinating I’m glad you think so too. Yay you experienced a simulated acupuncture session! It’s not too far off from reality, the only difference is the achy sensations of the needle going in and the health benefits of course. Thank you and have a wonderful rest of the week!

Is it true that Mandarin is harder to learn than Cantonese? Would be interesting to hear you speak Mandarin throughout a video. ☺👍
@semideasmr4 жыл бұрын
I imagine they are both very difficult! I don't speak Cantonese though.
@senesterium4 жыл бұрын
I didn't notice any major grammar differences, it's rather a matter of vocabulary, like many languages of the same families seems alike. However, Cantonese tones are HELL. Mandarin has two pitch tones (medium and high), and three contour tones (middle to high, high to low, and medium-low to low to medium-high). The last one might be the only difficult to produce, once you get the concept of tones. You can't mixup them, as they are pretty "extremely" different as opposites. Cantonese on the other hand has three pitch tones (medium-low, medium and high), and you can already mixup the first two, but the high tone also has a final drop to medium-high. And three contour tones that are just mind-blowing : one that start slightly below medium-low and raise slightly below it, one that follow the exact same path in the first third and drops almost but not exactly to low, and one that starts again at the same medium-low point as four of the others, follow them for a third, then raise extremely to cross the high pitch and drops a bit later. PLUS three checked tones, that are short high, medium and low tones without final drop for closed syllables. You may lend a hear at this nice, reasonable video : kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWPOnpKwaZJkipo.
