It's time the school board takes a look at the food being served in the schools. I've witnessed many days the food is cold, frozen and the fruit rotten I'm not sure what school Ms. Sanchez is talking about, but hygiene products are not offered at the school where I am. I've personally bought feminine products for our clinic because the school didn't have them. What schools is Ms. Sanchez visiting? I've not seen her at the school where I am. The county office/school board really on show up when there's a photo opportunity. There's a lot if work to be done. It can start with allowing the teachers to go back to teaching. Bring cursive writing back. Bring teaching to learn back. We're seeing teaching to test produces students who are woefully below level, but keeping that high graduation rating is what SCPS is focused on.

Here is a valid point. You can have cell phones that are NOT smartphones if the excuse is keeping in contact with your child. Non smart phones are $20 at Walmart and unlimited texts and calls are $15 a month. Done!

Seminole is Barely an 'A' Rated county now ... and is ranked somewhere around 15th in the State A combination of things has brought it Down -cell phones and social media distracts all students -there are some admins that have been in power for too long and they have become arrogant, rude, and feeling invincible -asinine policies concerning student fights...they follow this "if you get in a fight, you're both punished" and it's what i call 'Lazy Leadership' and it's ridiculous...rather than do the work and get to the bottom of who started the fight, they just punish both parties involved....the only way a student in a fight Doesn't get into trouble (their own words) is if he/she is 'pinned' to a wall or on the ground Before you defend yourself....so what they're saying is that you don't want to be punished, you are to sit there and allow yourself to be beaten until help arrives...Who in the name of hell dreams this stuff up ???...it creates a Predator / Prey environment -massive influx of foreign Hispanics students have brought down English / Reading scores -Black students year in and out continue to bring down all scores across the board, it's any ones guess to Exactly why, but they consistently have the lowest academic scores (minus English sometimes) combined with the highest rate of truancy and suspensions, this implies poor discipline / hostile home environment all you have to do is research any school on Greatschools dot org , and you can see the numbers for yourself...i've been watching them for over a decade, and the slide downward is obvious when you look....all my child's schools were in the 8's and 9's overall, now they're down to 5's and 6's just listening to the candidates, Abby is clearly the most professional, followed by Stephanie ( but she shows me no solid direction) ...and Kelly is just waaay out of her league ...Abby gets the nod, it's up to parents to do their job

It isn't smart to go against technology in schools. This is and will be hard is needed for future education. While it shoukdn;t be [it first, it is needed. Especially, when there isn't enough time in the day for a teacher and so called "support services" to properly teach students and in the process not humiliate them around their peers. My child went through an IEP program. He was never properly supported in school. He was not invited due to the humiliating way support staff made them feel, He did not do well there. My daughter felt the same. However, after entering college, he's on a path to receive his PHD. The system as it is is not supportive toward special needs students.
