This is a Flash animation of the fabrication process on the Intel 22nm FinFET chip. Now with a fixed video and audio addition.

Would be nice to see this in 720p or higher. This is a very informative video. Thanks!

finally this 1 is close to the real process! thanks for this video however 2:28 the right part is left out can we might know the calculations for volts/ampere/fields at this small scale ?

We are currently building chips in 2D, whether we might build 3D transistors like the 3D NAND? The video is excellent. Definitely need more of it.

Look into gate all around or GAAFET
@ebeampython44003 жыл бұрын
@@Jsteeezz Yes. GAAFET is a good example. I looked at IC structure forecasted for 1 nm and beyond. We will see more of the 3D transistor in next decade.

3D NAND his cheap and dense because the stacks of 3D NAND cells are processed in parallel, kind of creating trenches down thru 232 or whatever layers all at once. GAAFET is 3D, but not in the same sense. The transistor gets smaller in the X and Y dimensions and taller in the Z, but it isn’t a cheap, tall 3D stack of transistors. 3D NAND manufacturing process steps are interesting, too.

This has some gross inaccuracies such as the hardmask material and "acid etching", it is >99% RIE at 22nm and below!!!! It's not 1999 anymore with your "acid etch" patterning

You are replying to a comment left 2 years ago :P Anyway, maybe Intel are keeping some of their processing steps secret. How many steps are in this animation for 8,9,10 metals? Say 60-70 ?
@andrewyork38695 жыл бұрын
@@neilmcmahon doesn't it take days to turn a wafer into cpu's?
@neilmcmahon5 жыл бұрын
@@andrewyork3869 yeah or even a week waiting for all the steps to complete like annealing and curing etc. etc.

Its utterly boring. I studied ee. One must be really crazy to be this dedicated to this superboring work. Its really heavy maths and they study it like maniacs. I call that crazy.
