It’s very important that the UN continue its other investigation, which remains ongoing, into whether or not up to 14 members of UNRWA participated in the horrific Oct. 7 attacks on Israel. And if they did, they need to be held entirely accountable and punished accordingly. But UNRWA in Gaza is an organization of more than 13,000 people that … have an essential role in providing humanitarian assistance to people who are the verge of starvation … The claims that have been made by Prime Minister Netanyahu and others that somehow, UNRWA is a proxy or a front group for Hamas are just baseless." - Sen.
