I'm in Oregon... my girls are grown, only family left I have to really be here for is my dad.... if he is still senator when that need is not here, I'll be moving my fiance and I to Missouri. We need more people in power like him that realize, you can put any law in place to protect us but if the people protecting us break that trust and turn a blind eye.... what Good is the law. The AI is something I've been scared of.... and reality is, it's already been happening!! I don't think they need a new agency. I think it would be good to do this at an institution that already exists, such as a department that already handles cyber security and IT. Governments worldwide do not have the skills required to understand AI let alone safeguard the electorate. AI is forcing us to reevaluate how governments are selected. This conversation is a step in the right direction but it is too small, too slow.

We need an amendment that forbids prosecutors using AI to help put people in jail. At the very least a defendant should be provided an AI to help in their defense. And that AI should be of equal capability to the AI the prosecutor can use and have access to all the same data points.
