Really fun trivia I noticed some months ago: The section starting at 1:40 is almost note by note (but sped up!) identical to a section in "Concentrate All Firepower!!" from Ao no Kiseki. The fun part is that the section that's referenced in "Belief" happens almost the same time in "Concentrate All Firepower!!", at 1:42 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGqoYph7f6yDb9E They also share the same composer, so that's probably why!

There's a bonding event in the sequel where this song plays as Rean trains against Sara. She mentions belief and believe several times, how she believes in her students, how she believes in what she fights for, and how her past resulted in her being really strong. I find the intensity of this particular track and Sara's ideals to match up well together. It explains why this song also plays when you fight her in the first game. TLDR: Sara to me drives home why this song is named Belief and why it's intense.

Out of nostalgia, I actually just looked up this particular scene I talked about and I didn't even mention that Belief plays during that section! She says that's she's the culmination of a lot of hardships and ugliness when she fights, or rather trains with Rean with all she's got. ...I think she's my favorite character in the series. I could go on and on but even during -that- fight in the 2nd game it really shows her past and how she chooses to face it.

Personally I sold that Domination quartz because it was ridiculous, I've equipped Rean with it and realized how OP it was when he sparred against Angelica and one-shotted her before she had the chance to use a single craft, yet in the following cutscene the game acted like they fought toe-to-toe as equals. Way too overpowered. lol
