tbh I think this has been an IGL difference. I feel like FNS would have caught a lot of these things - like Sacy/Zekken always loud holding one side while JohnQT silently holds the other - that you pointed out. I'm not sure Marved/Ethan did. Or if he did catch out these macro ideas, he didn't properly take advantage of this information. Each of the NRG players individually are pretty cracked in terms of mechanics and aim but I feel the IGL diff was very noticeable. They hard executed on the stacked site almost every single time. I can only think of two rounds where macro decisions got NRG an advantage and even then they weren't able to convert it into a win. One of NRG's only won rounds involves Marved solo holding a site against four and getting three kills. Very impressive mechanically but that was a lost macro game and it was only individual heroics that brought it back. --- Some of NRG's execs seem pretty unrefined as well - throwing boombot and dog at the same angle mid for example. But you can't blame the IGL for that one, they haven't been together very long so I can understand some rough parts in their gameplay that still need smoothing over.

I was watching curry react and he pointed out, especially after Sacy’s 3k on A site, that NRG used a lot of util to take space all over the map and saved almost none of it for actually executing on a site, they were just running out dry with no flashes or stuns or blinds, definitely an issue that needs cleaned up

He’s not trying to “seem like a genius“ he’s analyzing the game. As the IGL he does this all the time to prep for other teams. He’s just going through his process for stream. Watching back games and seeing what works and what doesn’t and what mistakes were made is how you become a better player.
