Evidently, some of the Republican senators, on and off the Judiciary Committee, have not heard the trope about "Let sleeping lions lie [rather than being awakened]." Thus, they gave the indomitable Senator Whitehouse a rare opportunity to air-- in the presence of large audiences --the true story of Dark Money in the nomination and daily work of our federal courts from the bottom up. Bringing a direct quote from Laura Ingraham about the subject was one of the most brilliant moves in modern confirmation hearings. I simply stand in awe of Senator Whitehouse's brilliance & strategy. Having said that, I am not under an illusion that any of the opponents in the senate to Judge Brown-Jackson's nomination to SCOTUS will budge from their fairy tale of 'Justice for all,' or 'equal justice under the law.' Of course, those of us who'd listened to Senator Whitehouse's 7 or so lectures on You Tube about Dark Money and the federal courts have been already exposed to the the Gordian Knots between dark money and our federal judicial nominations & appointments.
