It’s a bit of fiddling with the slider once the camera is mounted and sometimes I wonder I am not obstructing the Sena camera view? But overall the LS2 helmet is a solid contender for open face comfort and quiet with the Sena producing reasonable quality footage but acceptable audio and in ear music presentation. There seems to be a market gap in achieving audio fidelity despite this being 2024.

Hi Simon, tricky one indeed. Im going to attempt the exact same install i.e. Sena 50C over LS2 Valiant... Did you eventually find a way to free the visor slider and set the Sena 50C at a convenient spot? How did you end up doing? Cheers!

Hi fiso42. Thanks for the reply. In deed you can mount the plate to the helmet and still use the visor slide. The secret is to mount it as forward as possible, using the allen keys to secure the base in. It may feel quite tight at first and you might think the helmets plastic cover in front of the slider could break, but do not fear, all should be ok. I'll try and photo or make a quick video to show you what i mean later this week. The positioning of the camera for footage is also pretty good and provides a descent perspective of the road wirh pretty minimal side of helmet view. Good luck.

@@smbutte Thanks Simon for enlightening me! Was thinking I'd try that eventually even though the plastic edge feels large, or nonetheless seems thin enough to force to clamp onto it. Hi Sierra. Thanks for the comment. I’d say when it comes to bang for buck, it’s hard to beat. Convenience and practicality scores well and it’s a solid 8+ in the comfort stakes. On the head the helmet transitions seamlessly from full face to j-pilot mode however it is a tad noisey on the road. Of course nothing some ear plugs won’t fit with no detriment to audio quality from the Sena unit. More practical than a Shoei NeoTec II (a lot cheaper too) and IMHO, a better helmet than the Shark Evo. Thanks

Hi Tristan. Thanks for comment. The sound quality of both music and voice is well above what I expected. Volume levels are easily audible up to 100 kms and the functionality of the jog dial and UI of the Sena App in bike gloves makes selection easy. Video quality and ease of use is the big selling point and at this price point, I’d take a Sena 50C over the other action cams. I did have software issues trying to upload upgrade versions. Whilst this was frustrating, the excellent service of Sena replaced the unit with a three day turn over which was excellent. Overall I’d rate it 9/10.
