Sena has some excellent value points. Harman Karden sound system is well proven. That rear brake light is genius. Eliminates the need fir a Brake Free. Although that Brake Free is quite bright and very noticeable due to it’s size. Nice job Woodzy.

I just bought new helmets during Christmas for my wife and myself,using the J&M communication that is on my 2012 Goldwing, butI also ride with some Harley riders that uses Sena 50s, n your opinion, would I b better off buying the Sena 50s and buy new helmets to install or buy the Impulse helmets, which one sounds best when music is played thru the speakers ??
@WOODZMAN9 ай бұрын
I have used pretty much all the Sena’s like the 50s 50c 30k and they are all sound good installed on a helmet but I can tell you for a fact they don’t even come close to how good the audio is on the Impulse helmet. It is absolutely amazing! I mean I connect my iPhone to the Impulse and play my music and it Jams! You will be impressed for sure

I started with Cardo and have been happy with them -- very interesting that Sena is branding a helmet with their coms unit included -- I'm typing this while watching ... hope you will address how you would be able to upgrade the coms unit ... as they tend to update regularly ! I wonder who Sena contracted to make the helmets? (I doubt they started a new helmet factory on their own?)
@WOODZMAN10 ай бұрын
Yea once you get on the app and connect the helmet to your WiFi, all you do is anytime you have it plugged into USB charging, it checks and updates the firmware automatically. I’m sure they are contracted with someone to make the helmets but you can definitely tell that it is specifically made for the Sena

Sena’s helmets are designed in South Korea, where the company’s headquarters are located. However, the manufacturing process takes place in several locations worldwide. Sena has manufacturing partnerships with several factories in China, Vietnam, and Taiwan, which produce the helmets.

@JTinGA hey JT, I was just in contact with Sena and they said that they actually produce there own helmets. In fact of there helmet production factories is owned completely by Sena also. Ride On brother!

@@WOODZMAN Technically Woodzy that’s true. However technically, Sena is a very small company. It in no way has the capital to purchase the manufacturing tooling/equipment to produce it’s own helmets. It wouldn’t need to, as it entered into a partnership with HJC for integration of Sena communication devices into HJC helmets. So made sense that HJC would manufacture the small amount of Sena helmets. With HJC being the largest helmet producer in North America with manufacturing facilities in South Korea and elsewhere. This is a very wise decision. That’s my final answer and sticking with it. 😂

I see in the video that you are wearing what appears to be a wireless mic..is that for recording to your phone or your GoPro? In other words, will the Sena mic record directly to your GoPro or do you have to use the wireless mic? This is the best opening/setup video I've found..great job!
@WOODZMAN10 ай бұрын
The Sena Impulse helmet has the mic but in but yes the audio works wirelessly directly to the GoPro also. You need the MeshPort Red only if you want others audio to be on the recording

Cool helmet I'd like to have that instead of adding music to my Roadking and it probably would be significantly cheaper. Nice Wing as well. 👍

Is the communicator replaceable if it goes bad?
@WOODZMAN6 ай бұрын
I would think it would need to be sent into Sena

You can connect this to a GoPro or a Insta360 to use the mic of the helmet?
@WOODZMAN7 ай бұрын
You can to a GoPro hero 12, but I don’t know about the insta360
