I have seen Elizabeth Warren so many times fight on behalf of suffering human beings. This is the first time I have ever seen her on the verge of tears. I was in this situation many years ago. We went through all the interviews and screenings and we made it here to the U.S. We were lucky enough that my other family members barely made it into the U.S. as well. I don't know what would have happened to my mother if her aunts and her sister would have stayed in Iraq. The pain and fear that these families are feeling must be overwhelming. May God help them. I really couldn't believe it that I finally got here. I still don't quite believe that I'm here and it's been 7 years. As in Iraqi-born American citizen, this is the first time I feel at unease in the U.S. I always felt that the U.S. was more my home than even the country I was born in. I'm honestly scared right now.
