While possibly true, Lina is right that using other non-monetary tools also a good approach. Naming individuals, destroying illegally obtained value (e.g. Algorithms trained on stolen data in addition to data), so that you stop these things from being "the cost of doing business" is going to be the best deterrent.

I am an owner operator no employees electrical contractor and I wired the home of amazons Vice President of games and apps here in Washington state on whitby island, they have no shame in spying on people, for example when I had stayed the night on the property to save myself travel time I was awoken at 3:00 in the morning to find he and his wife standing at the foot of my bed watching me sleep ,I honestly thought they were going to try to kill me! I pretended to still be asleep because I was in a most vulnerable position, the following morning they said to me while laughing that if I heard anything last night unusual that they were wondering around the property because they thought they heard something, that said I never stayed the night again and as soon as my contract work was done I never went back. Their son flat out told me that his dad did not like me because my family immigrated to the United States from Sweden and that his dad was from Poland, those people are freaking nuts, I did work for them often times in years prior to that happening back in 2014 and thought as anyone would that we were friends so being ignorant as I was I didn’t feel any reason to not share some personal information with them when they asked because I was under the false impression they liked me. I was very wrong and my life has not been the same since I did that job for them. They spy on anyone they can through apps and they have so much money they will always feel like they can get away with it. Please keep up the good work

I worked at MS ‘games and devices’ group and discovered the majority of drive from MS is to own user data, well beyond what seems reasonable for direct business uses/objectives. No limit to the willingness to intrude and overstep because “users can’t see what’s happening on our networks, It’s our property to do with as we want.” I had some significant moral objections after that. There was absolutely no conscience for secretly committing drastic intrusion of users. It was appalling.

Why is that, what antitrust actions are they doing? Are they forcing developers into exclusivity with them? Are they buying up the competition? What exactly are they doing to stifle competition other than offering a service that most of the consumers find better than others? Is their revenue share a problem when given the chance to take 100% the publishers chose to take all the money, while claiming the consumer is getting hurt by a 30% Steam share(EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Microsoft all have/had their own stores, were games cheaper there or were they taking all the profits which it was all about?).

Just as one example if you buy an MMO from them like final fantasy 14 you're locked into only ever being able to buy expansions on PC from them on that entire service account (that is made via square-enix's website not even theirs). If you make the mistake of buying the expansion via their webstore it will not work because Steam locks you into only ever being able to buy expansions from them on the entire PC platform.. you know.. snuffing out the competition. You can buy the expansions and add service accounts for playstation and Mac but on PC Steam locks you into an exclusivity deal with them. You cannot in any way free your PC service account from them once you make the mistake of buying anything on their miserable nightmare platform. That's just one example of many. Steam used to be a good company but as Gabe has stopped watching over them it has slowly gone to total garbage and pulling some very anti-consumer BS now days.

I refuse to go to the doctors anymore. I have been charged 3 separate times for one procedure. 1st time they said my co payment on a simple endoscopy was $295, then I got one after that that said my part was $800. Then I got another one saying that my cost had increased by $224. I paid all of these. I hadn't heard from them in months and didn't go to any further Doctor appointments at all and last week I get 3 text messages on my phone saying I owe $160, $146 and $124 in two days. This system is f*cked. I have cirrhosis and I have stopped going to my monthly lab checks. For 4 years my meld score hasn't changed because I took it upon myself to ; lose 100 lbs, control portions, cut way down on sugar and workout. My liver Dr. now is outstanding. I asked her why everyone was telling me what would happen when I got worse but, nobody was telling me how to get better. She regards me as a successful case of taking matters into my own hands.
