I found Packlink to be the same price and you can do bulk orders, much simpler and quicker! Always pay for UPS next day on Packlink for £7.20 up to 12kg and £60 protection. Also added an extra £90p the other day for a £90 sale (That is the remaining £30 of cover).

Few thoughts - 1) For large/Bulky items (>5Kg) and expensive items - eBay packlink sometimes beats P2G considerably if you're insuring the parcel for it's full value. 2) For Parcel2Go - if you have an inPost locker nearby, you can save around £1/parcel if you can get the box dimensions to 64x38x38 or less. 3) If you have a lot to transport, eBay/Packlink are currently offering free collection - saves a trip! 4) Finally, if you're using P2G a lot, you can get 1% cashback through TopCashback. Bit of a pain for 1%, but is adding up for me!

The best thing I did when starting eBay selling was to get a pack of 6x4" labels on A4 sheets. I didn't have the cash for a thermal printer so I used these in a standard laser printer. I saves so much time being able to print directly.

Great video George! 👍🏻 Lately I’ve found Packlink has been cheaper then P2G so it’s worth checking, I’ve used them for UPS and DPD this week! UPS Today have recently hiked their prices from £6 to £7.20 inc VAT so I don’t use them or P2G as much these days. For Hermes I go direct on their website with 20% codes which brings 1kg parcels down to £2.32, 2-5kg £4.79 and 5-10kg £5.59. I still use Royal Mail Click & Drop for large letters and 1-2kg parcels for £2.95 2nd Class. I avoid Parcel Force now due to issues, they once dumped one of my high value parcels in a bush away from my buyers address! Never used InPost lockers lol

Good info again George. Must admit though I use packlink quite regularly as the prices are literally pence more than going through a comparison site like parcel to go or ups today. The other upside is usually you can buy protection for the full amount of the sale for a couple of quid which is a lot cheaper than direct with ups for the more expensive items. I sold a sony amp for £180. The postage was £7.39 including £20 compensation but with the insurance it was an extra £2.50 including a signature. The comparison sites wanted nearly £15 including insurance.
@johnwalsh54094 жыл бұрын
George, don't forget to log in to Parcel2Go using TOPCASHBACK, currently 1% cashback for existing customer, but If you log into Parcel Force separately via TC then its 7.6% cashback, Hermes is 3.39% cashback. It all adds up. I recommend TOPCASHBACK for every online purchase, saved a fortune over the years on holidays, insurance, you can even go to the major comparison sites via TC and get even more savings.

I use P2G and although they are good value they have cocked a couple of deliveries and pick ups right up. To their credit they ran round like headless chickens to sort it on each occasion. I deal in Guitars so it's more who takes the best care of your items. P2G are worth it no doubt but they are not infallible mistakes will happen. You can give your customers the P2G ref number and they can track it through p2g's site.

ebay packlink provide a bulk purchasing tool which goes to their site where you can quickly edit and purchase more than 1 order quickly, I have also found their prices cheaper than parcel2go on most occasions. Parcel2go is also an excellent service and they offer £5 for every £100 uploaded to their account, this offsets the price increase of some of their services, compared with packlink at this time.

always interesting to see other sellers processing. I use Hermes because I am VAT registered and after I have claimed back the VAT they are siginficantly cheaper than RM/PF on items over 2KG/small parcel and only a little bit more expensive on letter sizes. I create an invoice and a file to upload to Hermes before I pick, then pick from the invoices and put the invoice and label together in a Docs Enclosed envelope: the risk of putting the wrong label on a parcel is too great with lots of sales pre-packed before labels go on. I have some decent software development skills so I have a spreadsheet file that takes the paid orders CSV file from Ebay and generates the Hermes upload CSV file and the and legal VAT invoices.

If you are a business all couriers only pay out the cost price. The reasoning is if you buy an item for £10 and sell it for £1000 and it goes missing (companies with replenishable stock) can ship a replacement. The company has only lost the £10 cost price. If the courier paid out £1000 then the company would make £990 profit from the customer and £990 from the courier. Of course in this game you usually only have the one item so can't replace it but the courier rightly so shouldn't compensate for your profit only your actual loss.

Great video. Do you not worry about royal mail claims for lost or damaged items if you dont have proof of postage receipts?
@mrfoameruk4 жыл бұрын
The problem even with a receipt is RM refunds are impossible to meet or not worth it. ie when a item goes missing you dont get the ebay sold price ie £50 but what you paid for it. So if you bought a bundle deal of items for a tenner you then have to show the receipt (good luck if you bought it at a boot sale and if you can find it six months later) and then have to figure out how much that item was in the bundle (which you cant really). so you may get £4 from RM but is it worth your time....That postage receipt is worth next to nothing. RM like ebay will always screw you over.
@resellerdaz88534 жыл бұрын
@@mrfoameruk i have to disagree. I find rm the best for refund claims. The 4 this year for lost or damaged then they have paid out the ebay sold price and the postage i paid on top. They even refunded fully on a 50% partial refund i did.
