Wow! I've been using Reason since it was Propellerhead and never knew this. This is production gold! Thank you for sharing this gem! Amazing.

This is the way I've been doing sends since parallel channels were a thing. It makes much more sense to have more control over your FX. I also like to EQ the parallel channels too

Awesome man never thought of using a combi for EQ on send effects. Sometimes fixes are so simple but they just go over our heads.

Always good to go back to your channel my friend. Reason Roots !!!

This was EXTREMELY helpful in understanding the parallel channels/sends. Thank you!

I can always count on your channel to provide me with answers when i get stuck! haha you're awesome. Basically i have an audio track that is already mixed and i want to bypass the Master section effects signal (only on the audio track). Sending a parallel bus effect is the solution i was looking for and didn't know how to set it up, now i do thank you.

That's a really interesting idea. And yes, slightly confusing, which I guess is where the colours and naming helps a lot. Thanks!!

This is great tech for parallel compression too for bus

07:56 - I just tried this as I want to know if it's possible to make an FX channel strip so I can add Insert FX to my FX like I could in Cubase years ago. When I tried your process in R11 I still got the FX on the original Dr Rex device as well as the Parallel Channel.

I'm confued indeed. This was a bit beyond my level, I guess. Maar toch bedankt!

The latter technique I am using is pretty much 'next level' stuff. Since faders become sends (and this can cause a disconnect at times). But I thought I would throw this idea on the table since it is worth to experiment with it (using a simplistic setup first and expand on that later).

Very clear and well explained! Going to use this second way now! Is there any limit to channels/bus in reason? Thanks!

Great video, like the way u think.

Is there a way within Reason to "print the effect send" to be mixed with the raw dry track?
@maxchadwick57184 жыл бұрын
Really useful and practical way of giving yourself more flexibility with FX. Thanks 😊 Would I be right in saying that as you add more channels and FX, your processer is going to take a hit?
@reasonexperts4 жыл бұрын
cpu is always going to take hit when you add something
@maxchadwick57184 жыл бұрын
Thought so, thanks 👍

Awesome! Only one thing - usual sends are post-fader by default, while parallel channels are pre-fader.
@reasonexperts6 жыл бұрын
True. Sends can be pre-fader too

@@reasonexperts So in the parallel setup, you show in the video, any dynamics and EQ made on the source channel in the SSL mixer aren't sent to the parallel track. Thus, the effects won't get the processed signal from the source channel.

how do you add effect event on the end of audio in reason
@reasonexperts3 жыл бұрын
Master section. It applies to all channels though.

so in your workflow you don't use ssl sends at all and always route everything to parallels? do ssl sends have something that we can't do with parallel processing ? (besides using less CPU)
@reasonexperts6 жыл бұрын
I am not saying I don't use SSL sends at all. It is a different workflow I sometimes use because I need more than 8 sends or I need more control to make it work. In the parallel realm (which I also touch in inserts a lot), you can EQ/Compress/use Inserts etc and have a send go to a send. Most of this can be done with sends too, but there is a limit to this (since you are dependant on the channels that uses them, where the parallel realm can take it in any direction).
