The "Send Files To TV" app is dangerous in it's default configuration. The "RECEIVE" button does nothing other than show you a list of received files. The real option to control the receiving of files is in Settings an is always on by default. It allows anyone on the same WiFi network to send anything to the downloads folder on your phone, even when the app isn't visibility running. Imagine if some weirdo decides to send some dodgy pics to your daughter's phone while you're all in the pub together.

There's an option to "stop listening" in the settings that basically stops all incoming transfers if it's on. You can use that.
