If you wanna lower your orbit, do it when you are at apoapsis (AP on the map), that is the most efficient

Seems the trick to hitting the sun will be to use the inner planets' gravity to slingshot you closer. That's how Asimov wrote about early space travel. Worth a shot. 🚀

you want to burn retrograde at the highest point in your orbit to lower the lowest point in the orbit.

you cant cut thrust in a solid rocket booster. you should look at some tutorials for the first game because they are mostly applicable to the second one too
