Also, for the history, Chex Quest was originally included for free in boxes of Chex cereal as a prize in the box to promote sales of the cereal. It was included on a CD alongside a trial for AOL and was actually made in the Doom engine, it was basically a Doom mod with the Chex flair added to keep it kid friendly. It was widely considered to be one of the most effective marketing campaigns of the time and increased sales of the cereal dramatically. It was incredibly short, but it was free and fun, and spawned 2 direct sequels, both of which were downloadable through the Chex website and weren't included with the cereal. Chex Quest HD (this one) was made significantly later, didn't really follow the original games levels or structure, changed the art style and added multiplayer, it was a download code included with Chex Mix, which is indeed what this version was promotion. But it's pretty much agreed that this version was nowhere near as successful as the original game.

I will say, as a medical professional, about 'diets.' M-O-D-E-R-A-T-I-O-N You have got to moderate what you eat. Do not overeat, do not UNDEReat. Get some walking in, stay active. If you supplant most of your diet with meat and forego veggies and fiber etc, then yeah, your body is going to have a hard time processing those proteins over and over and over in mass quantities. Also that being said, like Arin said don't feel BAD about what you eat!

Oh man the original Chex Quest game traumatized me as a kid! I had nightmares about flemoids for YEARS. When you get covered in goo and "game over" it was super scary for a kid! Now watching this remake as an adult they just look gooey elephant dudes. 😂 EDIT: I remember I begged my dad to play it so I could just watch and not feel like I'm directly experiencing it. Hey Arin! I’m real proud of you for eating healthy. I was thinking about going back to being a vegetarian. My partner is and it would certainly make our co-meals easier. I DID want to mention, in the sake of countering misinformation, that seed oils are not bad for you. Not worse than any other oil. Turns out when you deep fry things they are bad for you, and they are often deep fried in seed oils. Thats where that misconception comes from. If you don’t trust me or the internet, would you trust Hank Green?

There is a study going on right now to understand why some people thrive under a vegetarian diet and some don't. It's quite possible that a genetic mutation allows people to absorb a protein from plants that humans have regularly gotten from meat. Not everyone has this mutation and there are people that are malnourished on vegetarian diets. So far it appears to be a strong connection. I don't remember all the details though I think it's some kind of beta carotene

Personally as far as science, seen both sides, meat = healthy and vegetarian = healthy though not always even with a good diet, the simplest way I see it, the one option that seems bet as far as nutrition goes, balance seem to always win, not too much meat, not too much veg, never really seen an argument for someone eating an healthy amount of everything. it's just like Chex mix, a nice mix of everything xD

Seeing this on my homepage instantly unlocked a bunch of memories-I thought no one else played this as a kid!! We had the demo disc from a cereal box. I used to watch my brother play while I hid under a blanket because it was too scary haha
