I mean Shigeta was trash talking both Sendo and Ippo at the beginning. Sendo considers Ippo as a friend as well as a rival. Shigeta's biggest mistake was saying Ippo sucks.

For those that haven't watched the show, the next scene is actually the best part. Sendo whooped that guys ass so bad that he is mentally scarred and will probably never be able to box again. The beating literally gave him boxing PTSD.

i saw another subtitle translation where sendo said "I will never see you in the ring again." and honestly it hits way harder than just "I doubt I'll see you in the ring again." its way more confident.

There are two kin of refs in ippo Ref 1: Stop you have cuts that are bleeding, i will stop the fight if you doesnt stop bleeding by the next round. Ref 2:Lets Sendo give a guy brain damage and Volg shatter someones's jaw after they are koed

Nah, he’s just stupid, the southpaw should use his arm framing him to push him back or even a lean back lead hook to catch him off guard, pivoting to get out of ropes and create new angles, he is probably a one trick pony, that’s why he got figured out and the crazy hair style guy adjusted himself to land counter. It is reasonable that the ref doesn’t immediately stop the match but after the third cut of shigeta getting his ass beat the ref have to come here immediately, shigeta isn’t responding at all and is getting wailed on.
