Hey I'm the author of the map, thanks for enjoying the USA Mega series of maps! I got a good guffaw at the cost of tunnelling under the ENTIRE Appalachian mountain range ;) The challenge of pulling coal from there is sort of fun given, that's a real major source of coal in the US! Gives you a bit of perspective on the Pittsburg/Cleveland/Detroit Coal/Steel/Automobile industries that built up alongside each other.

The bridge you built is in the same location as the Mackinac (pronounced Mackinaw) bridge - it connects the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. When you can you should upgrade it to a suspension bridge, it’s one of the largest suspension bridges in the US and was one of the longest in the world for almost 50 years.

Why did you not supply the tools to Detroit and the food to Kansas? This will increase the demand for these products and hence the factories will ramp up production, making you even more money on each run. You should always think about completing a production line before starting another. Another suggestion is perhaps to have a freight terminal between the 2 coal mines and truck the coal to the terminal. This way the tracks can flow nicely to the south of the map too.

You need to take the food away from the factory to level it up so the farms produce more food. It’s not just Transportation, it’s also how much usage there is. As soon as you provide an outlet for food, it’s gonna explode.

Seniac, the reason that your trains are capping at 31 is because the gondolas have a max speed of 31. The tracks do have a max speed at 75, but better tracks have higher max speeds. Keep up the quality vids.

The train is able to drive 47 mph but the gondola can only do 31 mph. The train is therefore not going to exceed 31 mph

I think you need to start delivering your food, The farms wont produce as much because the food in the food factory is full. It has to upgrade to accept more grain. IMO after delivering your food I think you should optimize your routes that you've made. even add a truck or 2 delivering machines to the city right next to it to start upgrading the machine factory some. Good episode!

In vanilla I'm pretty confident that you need 4 farms to supply a fully upgraded Food factory. Max factory can produce 400 food. 1 farm max produces 200 grain which turns into 100 food.

I'd love to see you try and utilize more road vehicles to consolidate your goods to then transport via trains. You could easily ramp up production with a few routes bringing the raw materials to centralized platforms and then taking them shorter distances to the manufacturing plants. This would work great with your farm to food production in the midwest and could also help out in your coal area to bypass a lot of the headache with the uneven train lines. Loving the series!

He could add another cargo platform on the drop off point to Kansas, then set up some roads and run some trucks to the outer farms and bring it to there as a drop off to Kansas, instead of having trains go everywhere. Same for those coal mines, could have setup a cargo through terminal, so the tracks would be going north and south along the east coast, then have some trucks go back and forth to the mines and station..

Seniac with the food line in Kansas, try to go shout to Oklahoma, so you can take more grain and also transport some food to the city. And if you want to make your lines more efficient, on the left off where you select materials that they pick up is an item off a half full bar where you go to edit the lines. Try by punting a small amount of time and put it that they wait until they are fully loaded, so you make as much money as possible. Also, it will make them spread out equally. For the stop that they only need to unload the materials they got, just put the time to 0 seconds, so they will leave as early as they can. Sorry if It's hard to read, I tried my best.

When placing the coal station put shorter stations but add the storage buildings to hold the extra goods. Terraforming is very very expensive in this game

Seniac, Your Grain Farms can only produce 200 as your line rate for producing food, which will only request enough for 100 food, ie 200 line rate from grain as a 2 to 1 rate. This 100 in food production will not change / increase until you are delivering to towns. Adding more farms will only decrease the production rate of them, ie if you add 4 farms and not distribute food to towns the farms will only produce 50 each for the food production = 100

When you place signals, you'll want to make sure to place the signals at least a train's length from an intersection. Otherwise, the train will stop and block everybody.

Get more road trucks in other cities, you are leaving TONS of money on the table with the farms, all the cities need food. Setup a truck dropoff point for the food distribution, then you will see massive increases in the cities and profits! Awesome! Keep em coming!!!!

Looks like the map is USA Mega with Industry by Steam user Soopahman. It's a bit harder to use than just clicking Subscribe on the Steam workshop, you'll need a certain mod (Open Flora Mod) and will also need to fiddle with a certain game file. It should not need other mods. The map is a nonstandard size and apparently maps like that can act up and be crashy, so run at your own risk. Maybe that's why we're being a bit cagey about the map even though everyone keeps asking about it.

Track speeds can be found in the drop menu located in the upper left corner. Lots of other info in that menu too. Food to Charlotte is a quick $ maker. Farm and processing plant in close proximity.

In the top left corner there is a layers menu, one of these layers is speed of roads and track, as others have said your hoppers are limiting your speed, at the moment the max speed of track is 75mph but trains don’t reach that yet. It also tell you the speed when laying the track

I would say. Start a passenger line up and down the East Coast..but add a cargo platform onto the passenger stations for future goods delivery. Then set up some distribution routes for the end goods you are now making.

Have a massive end train station that has lots of platforms so you can connect all the train lines to it and have it in the middle of the map. It will be expensive but worth it

There should be no shared junction between tracks for trains. Each train has it's own tracks. As these shared junction will create more traffic congestion thus slowing the money earning rate.

There's a filter that shows the track speed and when your building tracks it shows what the speed limit on the piece of track is

I'd love to see a huge shipping depot for the trains, although it'll be just as expensive as it is big. I think the best spot would be in the middle of nashville, detroit, chicago, and kansas near the river, maybe on the east side

Cool map, but there is one up now of the US/Canada that has a fully navigable Great Lakes, and Mississippi River, with partial Ohio River up to Cincinnati. Great fun with the 1800 mod and Early Rail mods.

Seniac, you can make the train station cheaper as you could just add one section of station track as the passing track, then add the remaining track as normal track. You are not using platforms on the passing tracks so dont neet station track.

Nice playthrough, but your signaling is a bit off. You always place signals in pairs, even when you create the possibility for a train stopped at a signal to block the junction. Major no-no. Signals should always face junctions, never trail them. Also, learn about how to use one-way (directional) signals. They work very well.

@@dagamerking the map is missing the St. Claire river between Lake Huron (right of Michigan) and Lake Erie First smaller lake near Detroit - and the canal you are talking about is the St. Laurence river that takes Lake Ontario to the Atlantic Ocean

Why do you place a 320m station if you only run a 120m long train? You are loosing money on upkeep. Throwing money at a problem, hoping to end up with a solution is a bad business plan. Try engaging your brain first!
