Its such a shame. CS2 was supposed to be the new and "modern" engine that made modding smooth and easy. Thats why alot of people were wanting a CS2 in the first place. I hope that vision isnt dead.

I actually shed joyful tears when my CS death care actually cared for the CS dead, and CS cims actually turned up where they worked and shopped for whatever they wanted. All that don't seem to matter much in CS2.

Most other simulation don't have thousands of agent moving around the city. CS1 is really good comparing to most game of its genre.

Mate, I have never been an early adopter, so I never left City Skylines 1. And I'm glad, after the negative reviews it has had. I HOPE they fix it, because I would LIKE to upgrade to it, but until then, I shall continue to improve my mastery of the greatest city-builder ever created. In fact, my dedication to the original game has come to the stage where I called up my fave PC builder and spent £2500 to buy a new kick-ass PC to run the original game as smoothly as silk! So HELL yes! SO glad to see you returning to CS1.

Origin of this city: From old Mr_BaconDominus… The city was made after an experiment video I believe in 2022, he was seeing if the only transport to another little island is via canal. After that experiment he started to make a new series, named canal town, the Terry Murray park is also named after the first citizen of canal town. The city grew larger, leading to it being this big, The canals were filled by a local river at the start. Thanks for reading! 6:05 the starting canal filling is located in the right of the screen at this time. (If he does another video on snowfool or smth I’ll add it’s origin too.)

i knew that CS2 wouldnt have all the features, so i decided to wait, so I doubled down on 1, Decided to go crazy on steam and get every CC that i had resisted b4 but i wanted to extend my interest in the game. Result, enjoying the game as much as i did 6 yrs ago.

I still play C:S 1, never went to C:S 2, mostly due to having a 2070 Super. Though i have upgraded to a 4070 recently, don't feel there's a reason to move to C:S 2 at this point in time.

I got a 2070s and you will have no issue on the graphics end its the simulation that grinds to a halt even with a good cpu.

I've never stopped playing Cities Skylines. The general rule of thumb I follow about new games (except for DayZ) is to never do early access and wait a year after the initial release so the more annoying bugs can be worked out.

I remember when Cities Skylines 1 had mix reviews up until they released it's 3rd expansion so given enough time Cities Skylines 2 since it's not even a year old yet it can be like Cities skylines 1 was at the end a mess but a good mess.

Ig the hate is mostly due to the hype and how they kinda lied to everyone by releasing an unfinished game CS1 was not unfinished or buggy at it's release afaik Also CS1 was good due to it's workshop and if you are building a sequel that should have been your first priority

Really wish someone would make a Mods to Have Video for 2024, and only the mods we need. I have been trying to play CS1, but my mods are causing me tons of issues. Really need a 2024 Mods list and only the mods you need

Skyve helps with that. I agree though. One advantage to CS1 play now, is no main game updates to break mods. The downside is that some good mods don't work anymore, or some of the newer mods do what a few of the older mods did and trying to prune the many into the few can be difficult.

I'd like to go back to CS1 but the last patch broke it. Something to do with a development environment module that I never even knew existed. I got used to troubleshooting the game over the years but couldn't fix this, even with a complete wipe (or the best I could manage) and reinstall. So I waited and while I think CS1 vanilla was past it and the whole thing needed to be so "bolted on" that it was due a revamp, CS2 has promise but no trousers. Early days some may say, but I'd prefer less simulation realism for better performance and it badly needs the workshop. So at the moment I'm playing neither, which is a shame. Paradoxically (pun intended), when I next upgrade my PC I'll reinstall CS1 (hoping that whatever clagged version of "something" isn't there) and mods before CS2 - even though the newer spec should be beneficial to the latter.

6000 active CS2 players, 16000 active CS1 players. Cant speak for other platforms. The tide kind of changed, and we had a small talk with the devs on CS2 last week to. So we are getting changes in CS2, now, so my prediction, is that we might see the number even out in a month or two. Waiting on word from the devs on the performance work. My guess is that they have not figured out what to do yet. The team is not that big, and they are kind close to water over there heads right now. But it seems like last week talk was helping.

seniac please go back to playing skylines 1 , i don't play the game but having to see constant trafic jams / backing up / crazy road logic ect realy realy messes my head up. in skylines 2 . i mean there is litraly no trafic logic in skylines 2 even if the road building is better the cars just dont flow like they do in the real world . so yes please can we see a new skylines 1 from you sir ???

CS1 is very good, CS2 could just been the same game just updated with including the best mods and assets and some improvments on the game simulation mechanics and cims, pocket cars and nods limit, map size and some better graphics. I had some fun with CS2, but the lack of possibilities for creativity was just too boring, and when I could not have ferries and tunnels throught tall mountains was a hell to even build, it was just to much. CS1 is actually great because its a game the community evolved it together, the players improved the base game so much and thats why it is still a much more fun game than CS2. Regarding KZbin, CS1 is very fun to watch, there are so many different creations, but the CS2 the cities look quite similar, and it quickly becomes extremely boring to watch for a long time. I guess that most youtubers will return to CS1..

Cities skylines and remastered shouldn't be abandoned, it took 8 years to make it playable on console waiting for DLCs, so cities 2 won't any good for console players for quite some time, we will want to keep playing remastered for some time until 2 is playable, remastered is in dire need of more European style DLCs, how about an Edinburgh (the gothic city) DLC? We badly need tenament buildings, European schools, vehicles and so on. There's money to be made. How about giving those creators more opportunities to make more for remastered? Pretty please with a cherry on top.

The Problem is not the Steam Workshop, the problem is that the asset editor for CS2 isn't finished yet, they have run into some major techincal issues so it's taking a while.

Never left CS1. Too many excellent mods and assets, from the hard-core asset creators, who are still left. I also, will never buy a game, unless it's a year or two old. By then, it either has proven itself worthy, or it's failed because of bugs that can't/won't be fixed.

I am not a fan of CS2. It has no soul. all buildings look the same. while CS1 you carefully decorated beautiful neighbourhoods, in CS1 you keep adding large, boring areas, one after another. The maps are poorly done. I miss the Workshop and all the unique buildings and maps and tons of other stuff. I really tried but went back to CS1 few days ago.
