It's a very informative video. These are the very important requirements of Senior citizens as mentioned below: 1. SCSS interest should be tax-free under 10.10D. 2. 8.5% minimum rate of interest on (50 Lakhs + Inflation ) fixed deposit 3. High-class hospital for senior citizens for government health policy on 30000/- premium. Every hospital should cover 3-4 Lakhs SC for their treatment. The government will get 1200 crore annually, a minimum amount every year for one hospital /district. 4, Annual travel pass for senior citizens. 5. Pension for Senior Citizens without any clause. Which can be got back from their property after death.

ऐसा लगता है कि आपको बहुत सी बातें नहीं पता, सीनियर सिटीजन को रैलवे ticket में मिलने वाली छूट छीन ली गयी. कैपिटल गैन में भी सभी के लिए समान्य है, सीनियर सिटीजन को टैक्स फ्री करना चाहिए, 10 लाख तक. सरकार को सीनियर सिटीजन का विशेष खयाल रखना चाहिए.

Earnings of Sr.citizens from any source including capital gains should be considered as income for the purpose of taxation so that they are not forced to pay higher taxes under different sections of income-tax. Standard deduction should also be allowed on total earnings and not on government pension only as most of seniors citizens are not covered under government pension and have taken pension plans from ireda approved pension plans for which no standard deduction is allowed.

No special relief to senior citizens. Apart from the this health insurance also taxed.. is this not unfair attitude on senior citizens who donot get government pension of 50% of last drawn salary as pension?? Personal income tax system complicated instead of simplification. This is not expected from Modiji and FM..

There are crores of sr. Citizens who retired from jobs of private company, hence not getting any pension. They are only surviving on interest income. WHY THIS CATAGORY SENIOR CITIZENS ARE EXCLUDED FROM STANDARD DEDUCTION BENEFIT? MOREOVER DEDUCTION U/S 80 TTB IS NOT AVAILABLE IN NEW REGIME. PLEASE HIGHLIGHT THIS ISSUE OF Senior citizens retired from job of private companies. At the same time take up this matter with Finance Minister to include for standard deduction of Rs 75000.

If senior citizen has income only from Interest, they do not receive advantage of standard deduction. This facility should be given on interest also.

Madam, I am also a senior citizen, in FY 23-24, pension is Nil, FD interest 3 lakhs, LTCG 2.50 lakhs, I thought since the total income is less than 7 lakhs, no tax under new regime. But, LTCG is not included in sec 87A. Is it so? Under section 87A, we can't avail LTCG & STCG?

There is no benefit of standard deduction to senior citizen like me who doesn’t have any pension should have additional slab and some more rebate in new regime. PM is senior citizen but all politicians do not have any taxation. People like me is severely affected and finding difficult to manage life at this time and this age. New regime they should give deduction of 80D and standard deduction too !
