Hello Gael. Beautiful home you have created. I'm a 54 year old woman in the beginning phase of building my tiny house. What is your best advice? Any design regrets?

@@carinhiebert5441 hi carin. I watched hundreds of tiny home shows and videos to have an idea of what I wanted. This was the house available to me in the amount of my retirement so it wasn’t like I could really design as I wanted as this was a template for houses they were building at the time. I did get to pick fixtures paints floor etc. But it wasn’t till I really lived here for several months that I saw what wasn’t ideal. Shower space, stairs. I was able to add 6 ft on to the 20x8 so it was longer but if I knew and had the extra money at the time I would have made it a 28 and had a bigger bathroom. As money comes in I’ve been making a few modifications. Anyway watch the videos make lists definitely look into available places to put it as currently this can be VERY tricky concerning town city county and state laws. I paid for mine completely and I don’t have house payments. Hope this helps.

I dreamt myself to sleep recently thinking about Tranquility Tiny House Community. Gael and I are on the same wavelength. A couple of years ago I started to remodel my life with love. I wanted to love the paint on my walls, the curtains, the salt & pepper shakers, friends. Everything. It has made an incredible difference in my life. I enjoy tiny home videos because I love hearing people talk about how they designed in all the things that are important to them. "Blank" was important to me, is said in every single one. Bravo! I hope to be your neighbor someday.

I would love to have a tiny house someday. When I was younger, I dreamnt of having a big house for me to retire and enjoy the rest of my life. But now, things have changed. Now that I am older, I realized that materials things really cannot make us happy. It is your inner peace that can bring happiness and tranquility in your life. We don't need a lot, we just need a piece of the cake, not the whole cake.

The yellow siding is cheery, and I like the colors. I stayed at Tiny Tranquility a few weeks ago and loved it. It's a blueprint for how communities (zoning) can welcome tiny homes on wheels as year-round living that can be in a community setting.

I was allergic to the hair of cats, dogs..... and the ONION was the remedy ....I took 12 cápsulas of onion per day ,during a year, and afterwards I was ok, without any problems of ashma for being near cats, dogs , etc. 💙💛💗💫

I really like Gael's tiny house. The colors are beautiful and I love that she made special places for her 2 cats! I could never live in a tiny house because I can't live without my 7 sewing machines, 3 of which are treadle machines. (And my husband has over 350 sewing machines! He repairs and restores vintage sewing machines.) The house I live in now is tiny enough for me. It's 1300 sq. ft and the cats love it, as do we. Thank goodness we have a big barn!

Gael, Being another Cat-Mama I relate. I'm down to 1 cat now, but love the fact you have Cinda & Rella, great names for your Fur-babies. Girls are great to have indoors, wonderful companions who ONLY complain if you forget to feed them on time. Enjoy your tranquility. GOD BLESS! Great home. I love small spaces. I had a dorm room in college where I built a loft and slept 6 feet above the floor and had my desk and bean bag chair underneath. I guess I was living in a tiny home and didn't realize it. I once built a custom home for myself, wife and dog. 5500 SF, 5 bedroom, 5 bath, fully finished basement with 56 windows. Was real happy the day I sold it.

I'm very envious! It's unfortunate that she didn't go with a gooseneck style so she could've avoided the loft and so many stairs. I'm getting older and I plan on a gooseneck so I can have a bedroom at that end and very little stairs. Stairs at an older age especially with her back and leg issues are just too dangerous. She would be further ahead to sell this model now before it's too old and buy a better suited model she can live safely in.

How much is the lot rent? I am moving into Tiny Town, built by Incredible Tiny Homes, in Newport, TN. My lot is free for two years. Then, I will pay $200 a month! We eventually, will have a Community garden, small shops, and a log cabin Community common area, where a local chef will cook for us, occasionally. I hope to talk the owner into a small gym. I have lots of equipment, and he is a health nut. He is 60, and built, and a vegan. Single, too, ladies.

I pay 600. It includes trash water sewer. You should watch the video the did of this whole place. There’s are tons of extras!

@@gaelgraysen8158 I did watch it. Our sewer and water will be $25 a month. We pay the electric. Trash, we drive it one mile down the road. Or, one of the residents said he will carry for a nominal fee. Randy wants to help those who cannot afford rent etc. His homes are well built, and are about half the price of most tiny homes. I will only have about $770 before taxes..SS.. to live on, and a small annuity. Gonna try my best to make it work. Will have my own home. That is great for me! We plan to work together, to help one another. Hope so, I am 70, and have too many health problems!

As a cat lady this woman is awesome! I love how she thinks about the happiness of the cats. She can also do a take down chain link fence outside for the cats. Rescue places use it and it is easy to do and will give the cats more space.

Yes same for Denmark, but so many regulations to build like this, makes it very expensive. Saw a danish guy build a tiny house, it was around 200.000 £, just crazy price.

Wow, did you get lucky with that lot on the end!!!! That was my main gripe with RV parks--the view was always of someone else's house way too close. The field looks like a lovely place to have a private conversation, something else that's rare in a planned community. Looks like a great deal of care was put into this place.

Maintaining a salt lamp on 24/7 might help with getting rid of that smell. Since covid i've had to live in a relative's attic and the smell due to the poor quality of the house was not good for my breathing....so I remembered that I had a salt lamp in storage AND my winix air purifier....both are working 24/7 and thank god.....no smell! air! and air quality is really good!

@@gaelgraysen8158 When you were in the kitchen, you spoke about how there tends to be an odor of mildew ( I wonder if I misunderstood) ...anyway you mentioned how a lot of tiny homeowners purchase a de-humidifier and you have yours in kitchen. I thought I heard you talk about the smell, anyway Himalaya Salt lamp help with cleaning up the air. I mentioned how now during covid i've been in a damp, cold east coast room in my aunt's attic. I noticed a strong mildewy smell that took my breath away when I first came here and it became stronger with the rain and snow. It seems the house is old and I have a feeling that it's not well insulated or they just aren't able to keep up with repairs. For the first 2 months I had a terrible time with the air quality up here until I remembered I had a himalayan salt lamp in storage. This room is about 6.5 ft in height, and 10 by 12.....it's really really small. Well the salt lamp cleared the air in a few hours, I was so impressed . I ordered air filters for my winix air purifier which I received a month after I was already using my lamp. For a year I've had them both on 24/7 and it's wonderful not to have to deal with that humid....not really humid more like a mildew smell that absolutely makes it difficult for me to breath. Just a thought.

I was wondering if the metal roof was noisy in heavy rain ? Obviously this lady has adapted her house to suit her needs , but I would need a bedroom . These tiny houses are super cute , I really like them 👍🏻

I love the sound of the rain and hail on the roof. I have fond childhood memories of the sound. My cats not so much 🤣🤣🤣
