So Neat! I wish I would have done this starting as a young boy! I went the path of playing Traditional in bands and solo. I did learn all the essential instruments which I’m very thankful for, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, tin, and guitar! Now I’m 38 and my 7 year old daughter has been stepping since she was 3. I’m so glad she has embraced our traditional family roots. Also my youngest sister who is 13 is an excellent dancer. So my brothers and I will actually sit around and play the music for them on the song they are working on at the time instead of just playing it on the iPhone through a speaker. We are in the process of creating a KZbin channel of all Irish music dance and art done by our family. However I digress. These young folks are so talented and it makes me so excited knowing this is what I have to look forward to over the next 10-12 years!!! Any parents out there the are undecided about putting your child in Irish dance just DO IT!!! You won’t regret it and your child won’t either if they keep a strong work ethic! Anywhere we go and someone ask the girls to dance it is a big hit with everyone, even those that are not Irish!!!

senior hornpipe I loved the girl in the yellow dress and also the last girl.the boys had excellent rythem and height.they all had some thing that stood out.the steps while accelerating speed and style has to catch the adjudicators eye . good luck .I wish I was still dancing but I.m a bit old now.brian Alexander north east of England.

A hornpipe needs lots of trebles.Sound is most important. Some of these seem more like slip jigs in makeup of steps.Especially the male dancers set.
