Join 84-year-old Joanne R. as she embarks on her kayaking journey in picturesque Morro Bay. Despite a severely injured shoulder from a recent fall where she broke her humerus bone. She opted against a surgery to repair it. She's also had a previous rotator cuff surgery on her other shoulder years prior.
Joanne, encouraged by her experienced kayaker husband David R., is determined to conquer the waters. Having kayaked only four times before, she’s trying out Angle Oar's Versa Paddle System to see whether it would allow her to paddle without pain.
Afterward this particular excursion, she said, "I paddled four times as long as last time, for about an hour in total. (My) arm and shoulder still hurt, but (I) could paddle for a much longer period. I liked that it was very stable, and it felt like I could just rest my arms on the paddle."
