That was my first thought of what she meant by saying she felt invisible the older she got...when she was letting her daughter's drama determine her possible future love interest, but then maybe her daughter didn't want her to be on the show so she might have been manipulating her emotions so she won't get remarried. @@dnsgilbert09 Are you really calling a difficult birth "drama"? Honestly, that's such a weird take. Birth is difficult and sometimes things to very poorly. If her child is struggling after what Joan already knew to be a very difficult birth, I'm not surprised she reached out to literally her only parent. I agree in the sense that Joan has probably lived her life for her children, but to say that is somehow the fault of the children is probably not exactly accurate. A lot of women unintentionally lose themselves a little in motherhood.

I didn't care for the manner in which Kathy brought it up to Gerry though. She was going on about how people in the house are being 'mean.' That's a stretch. I can honestly understand where Kathy was coming from with Theresa saying too much, but I do think she blew it out of proportion. Kathy manipulates the situation with Gerry by playing the victim. Did we see her given a hard time by anyone?? Now, there is a right way and a wrong way to say things. Theresa is excited and overshares. Instead of saying to Theresa, "Maybe you are sharing too much? Maybe not talk as much about your date with Gerry," Kathy decides to give Theresa a definite piece of her mind complete with finger wagging in no uncertain terms, and then tops it off by saying, "No, don't cry," as if Thresa does not deserve the right to react to the way she lowered the boom. At this point Kathy becomes a mean girl.

@@oksanaml9279 I can see how it would look that way. I personally interpreted that differently though. Myself, I cry pretty easily and often in response to most any strong emotion. It's not intentional and literally even putting all my effort into stopping it, it's often just not possible. If I learn that I've significantly hurt someone, that guilt and sorrow can absolutely lead to tears. It has nothing to do with feeling like the victim or wanting someone to feel sorry for me, but I just feel that strong of a negative emotion and do my best to take responsibility and apologize. In Theresa's situation, I can also absolutely see needing a few minutes of processing and thinking and asking a friend to see if others were perceiving my actions as equally harming to better understand how to move forward. I struggle immensely in social situations and I have frequently had to rely upon others to help ensure that my actions are coming across in the way that I intend. I heard Theresa similarly sharing what happened and asking questions. I think that would be a difficult situation for me as well with someone coming at me as strongly as Kathy did and refusing to allow me to talk, apologize, or literally make a sound (see Theresa making and "oh" type listening sound - as I interepreted - and Kathy immediately telling her no) without also coming at me for that. However, I definitely don't think I would have attempted to be friendly with Kathy again the way Theresa was. I think it's more likely that she just wants everyone to like her and tries to be friends with people who just don't rather than keeping her distance and being polite when it's absolutely necessary for them to interact. I don't know the whole thing was just a lot and definitely more drama than I was expecting after the first couple weeks.

I think that was an excuse. She wasn't ready to start a serious relationship, especially not when the guy has the same active mourning feelings that she had. This setup was ripe for triggering trauma on both sides, and I feel she knew it. Btw, I had a hard labor and C-section, and my mom sent me some flowers. That was just fine. It's not a mortal situation!

I think both Kathy and Theresa's feelings are valid tbh. It did seem like Theresa was oversharing a bit, and that can make anyone self conscious. Also for everyone hating on Kathy, she went out of her way not to mention Theresa's name to Gerry, even when he directly asked her. So I don't think she threw her under the bus at all. But I also feel for Theresa because I don't think she's intentionally trying to make Kathy feel bad or anything, it's just who she is.

I think it's a good choice for Kathy to not give Theresa's name, but there was something else that stuck out to me here. Kathy told Gerry that she was getting daggers all day long. That tells me that she literally had all day to talk to Theresa herself instead of waiting until after talking to Gerry and getting a rose. She literally made zero attempt to deal with this herself and I personally feel that's a little ridiculous.

I don’t know if that conversation actually took place or the producers cut and pasted conversations ( called Frankenbites) but if it actually happened BRAVO to Teresa , l would have said a lot worse to Kathy … Kathy lied to Gerry , faked cried, yelled at Teresa , not letting Teresa get a word in to explain herself and then when Teresa stared to cry she had the nerve to tell Teresa not to cry . How Kathy ever hooked husband #1 is a mystery to me , he must have “been dumb as rocks “

Every one needs to read Amy Kauffman’s book Batchelor Nation .Amy describes the way the producers manipulate the cast , use what is called Frankenbites to change conversations and how they steer the leads away from the people they like . I am certain that bc they knew Kathy would be trouble ( they do a lot of interviews and get to know them bf casting ) l am sure that since Kathy is a villain they are telling Jerry that he has to keep her on the show for a while. So we are stuck with her a little bit longer. Kathy probably thinks she is winning and has a chance , bless her heart . 😂
