Sennheiser Ambeo Mini Review | Sonos Beam Killer?

It's great compact option for people that don't want to compromise on sound and gear quality but still wan't something affordable from a renown real-deal recording studio gear brand. Affordable? Hear me out. Sennheiser is making 10/10 stage and recording studio equipment. I use their headphones and microphones for years and I tell you one thing. Even their cheapest stuff is top of the line and makes as reference gear in the price range. When buing their stuff I've always knew it will be worth that extra money to be sure I get best out of every penny I invest in it. That's why it will be my go to soundbar to make me some minimalistic tv/movie/music system in my small 20m2 living room. Adding their woofer later on of course.

A lot of reviews talk about £700 being arguably too much for what it is but it's routinely down to £499 now and that puts it in direct competition with the Bose 600 (95p cheaper in fact) which makes it seem like a steal

holy crap that has alot of speakers in it and looks richer than my cheap 65 dollar soundbar, i know what soundbar im getting a year from now when its a bit on discount.

Thankyou for unbiased review! It's between this and the beam gen 2 for the bedroom. This is now £400 ?! I might have to demo them as I'm used to pro audio monitors and high end hifi.

Sennheiser Ambeo Mini just picked up as the price is the same as the Sonos beam all but 10 quid - have to say its pretty good ive had the Sonos beam but never got on with it cos of connection issues also the Sonos beam is all controlled within the app the Sennheiser Ambeo Mini has a nice remote so can keep my phone out of sight on movie night if I need to change anything. Love all the setting there is so much you can do than Sonos beam- think for 10 quid more than the beam is 💯 times better. fits beautify in my small apartment works lovely with my Sony tv . price in the uk at present is £509 but ive seen it at £489 just outdoing the Sonos beam.

Yeah, I agree with some comments regarding the Bose lineup. At this price point you might go for the Bose 900. At a comparable level youwill be better off to go for the Bose 600 and get better performance (mainly from th upfiring speakers) and at a cheaper price.

At 20% cheaper than the price of a Bose 900, you can get a refurbished Samsung Q990B or even better yet, you can save another $300 and get a Q930B . 😉

My Bose used to lose audio for 1-2 seconds when connected via HDMI, in abnormal timings. I have no such issues with Sonos

Still rocking Audio Engine HD3’s wirelessly connected to my BenQ TK800M 4K Projector. AptX. Had a nice Bose Soundbar back in 2020 and was impressed, almost ended up worth the Sennheiser Ambeo, but just can’t justify it considering I love jamming music and the HD3’s are amazing for $300ish.

Beam plus sub mini sounds like a better move but love to see some solid competition. Personally having the beam, arc and 4 ones, I love my Sonos home system

Sennheiser is great, but the price is too high for a compact soundbar, for $100 more you can get the Arc if space isn’t an issue or for $129 more than the Sennheiser ambeo mini you can get a Beam and sub mini.

This is a very niche product. The beam 2 & sub mini make more sense. Then you can add rears at a later time.

Juggling superb epithets in the address of this device does not make it better than it is, and as we all know, a good product is always distinguished by the price. Like more expensive doesn't always mean better. It's foolish to buy a banana for 1000 euros just because it's sold by Michael when the same banana costs 1 euro because it's sold by John. Samsung soundbars, even from the previous generation, sound phenomenal for 400-600 euros, full-sized soundbars with subwoofers, a full set of connections, with a complete list of all available formats and codecs. This doesn't make the Sennheiser soundbar bad; it's just the same soundbar, the same form factor, with 90% of the same technology, and they're asking for an overcharge simply for the brand. It's time for manufacturers to understand that the days of foolish and aggressive marketing are long behind us, and buyers can't be deceived anymore, just like asking for 800 euros for a mini soundbar; it's frankly foolish.

Think I’ll stick with the Bose 600 with its over head Dolby Atmos speakers 🔊 firing upwards and at £499 it’s £200 cheaper. To me it’s a no brainier Bose wins every time. I have the Bose 600 and it’s a fantastic soundbar that I have no intention of ever changing.
