Senpōu - Official Behind the Scenes Fifth Sneak Peek At Early Development

Hello, thank you for joining me for another sneak peek presentation for the upcoming open world stealth jrpg Senpou. Today in this presentation we will take a quick look at quest, weather, and the day and night cycle. This an early development presentation and does not reflect the quality of the final product, Please enjoy! All Weapons obtained are all dynamic, and can be changed while out of combat. Internal Manuals are the primary source of a character's stats and skills. The grade of a player's Internal Manual determines the character's strength. Only one Internal Manual can be active at a time, though it may be switched freely when out of combat. Most Internal Manuals are taught by the Grandmasters. The Great Ninja Scrolls' Volume 1, Volume 2, and Volume 3 Internal Manuals can be learned from Grandmasters. As players grow so will their squad, you will gain all sorts of members to add to your squad. Multiple ninja clans and factions occupy Iga Province, you will come across many with Ideals that differ. A full day and night cycle has been implemented. The night sky can provide a more stealthy approach, but is suited for more advanced ninja, due to lack of visibility. Just saw your comment , tbh i wasn't expecting it to be this good it looks similar to tenchu in "some aspects of the fighting " and sounds are trivial again good stuff , the visuals reminds me of Ninja Gaiden which was a great game ,so it helps here to say this trailer is a promising journey to look for , and I'll be there to get the game when it drops . Will be buying this game. I cannot wait. Have you considered the way Kuji Kiri could work in the game. I’ve always thought one cool idea would be to use Kuji Kiri to replenish health. Basically you have to press a sequence of buttons in various combinations to allow powers. You could have one combo allows you to run faster, one that allows greater stealth, one that replenishes health, one that allows you to breath underwater for longer etc.

Your open world looks beautiful already and I love the idea of having to collect various ninja scrolls to unlock secrets too. Will you also have the ability to collect poisonous plants and perhaps snake venom and fish for fugu to craft poison and then lace it on blow gun darts, shuriken, poisonous rice etc.

@@HattoriStudios Np. Earlier videos had a low bit rate or whatever. It was so low I couldn't even see hardly what was going on, and this one played just fine and showed a fairly decent game loop. Makes me think of some of those older flicks I cannot remember where I seen, that had ninja clash randomly in the woods. Generally think of very sneaky stealth games for ninja, so I was confused. Still kind of more combat maybe than I think is for a ninja theme, but I can see something shaping up that is familiar to classic movie ninja. honestly, idk how to word it lol... just going in circles trying to think how to word and pinpoint it. Looking better though. =)

I understand, and I apologize for any inconvenience, I am still learning but I am trying to develop something completely unique to the ninja genre. The combat shown so far is just the over world combat, the stealth gameplay will be shown in a future presentation. For the darkest night how do you want differentiate environment and ninja characters? As of now the player can't see anything when it's too dark. That can cause some issues with locating the outlines where's the character that you controlling on the screen.

Lanterns will be needed, ninja would use small lanterns or torches when out at night.
