I've been following Jamie Wheal for the past few months and love his commentary, this interview though gives me a new found respect for him. It's hopeful to see fellow leftwing people acknowledge the immigration and destabilization issues of European society. This guy is intellectually honest.

I get an odd comfort from listening to Jamie. Almost like he's explaining things that I've been disturbed by and saying, "Here, let me ease that panic, at least down to rational fear." It really does help!

Thanks for the content, Euvie and Mike. I think you covered a lot of stuff that is illuminatimg, but I feel I must complement what you said, specially at the last part where you three talk about the ways a group of people can function optimally right while sharing some deep, meaningful values. I know Jamie has covered some of this stuff in his book, but since he himself raised the question as to whether there are other ways to enact this in the mainstream, I want to share 2 info sources that may interest you three: Frederik Laloux's Reinventing Organizations and Brian Robertson's Holacracy. Both books are in-depth descriptions of companies operating at what philosopher Ken Wilber might call Teal and Turquoise complexities. In a nutshell: these companies explicitly 1) State one shared deep purpose, 2) Create the conditions to let people bring in their fullest, freest selves, and 3) Find ways to auto-organize without the need for controlling, subjugating hierarchies nor never-ending consensus reaching. Very cool stuff, really. I hope you like it and may be share it with Jamie. Be well.

I realize that these issues are much larger then who we choose for President of the United States. But Andrew Yang is the only candidate that seems to be addressing these issues clearly and actually offering a possible way forward that is both a holistic vision of how to realign the country and technologically intelligent.

What does Jamie Wheal do? What does he suggest we do? Let’s say we increased our capacity for organizational complexity we killed the sacred cows and we did the shadow work now what? He says basically we should drop what we’re doing and band together to solve these urgent problems what are they? And what can I do now as a individual?

I think the game changing thing will be artificial mood control. The ability to control the mind, the shadow and emotions through technology that has the power of drugs but with more precision and control. It will have side effects and the susceptibility for abuse but people want it, will pay for it, and the technology is getting better so it will happen. How that changes the game will be beyond what we can imagine.

I didn’t catch it if it was discussed, but what “sacred cows” does or do the Jamie types and or those who think they have successfully achieved the “complex OS” necessary to become a trail blazing leader, and yet are still struggling with as part of the shadow dynamic? So they still unknowingly have, but that he or those at that liminal place are potentially not willing or cannot see? Because that seems crucial to know and or recognize as a part of this development we are trying to get through.

I love the wise grandmother theory...in theory. The problem is that women are even bigger worshipers of beauty than men. Maybe becoming a grandmother can help someone through that, but I wouldn't say it's automatic. My concern is that many women never fully escape from the idea of physical beauty, and lead secretly bitter lives because of it. At the risk of sounding alt-right, I'd say that this is even a breeding ground for a particular (highly destructive) strain of feminism. But I'd like to think I'm just providing an alternate point of view. Note: My thoughts here are based on American culture only.

Issue about the grandmothers. I love this idea BUT I have seem time and again institutions designed historically by men selecting for women who embody the values of the insitution. Whoever can't play the game is pushed out. The result gives us Madeline Albrights or Margaret Thatchers who, you might think are wise elders, but really operate with and for a system. They go to war as fast as any man. If you want wise elders, the individuals must come from frameworks out side the system. No one who has earned their creds in the system, male or female will have the perspective needed. Another point. You mention speed, in passing. I think this is, in itself, something that could end our society. Things are changing so fast that we can't make decisions about social impact before its fading into the rear view mirror. We assume anything new is ok unless determined otherwise. Ex: Genetically Modified plants that are insensitive to herbicides which also kill all the natural flora and the insects that feed on them. What if we flipped it and said everything is guilty unless proven innocent. We might require a 25 year review with research proving the innovation is a benign force. This could be medicine, social media, impact on environment, impact of family etc.

These are great thoughts. Women often turn themselves into men so that they can thrive in the system. They sacrifice their wisdom up front.

Fair enough A council of crones would be great as long as they were wise... however also older men of 60 lets say also aren't usually 'led by their dicks' and so a council of elders generally (who were also wise) is probably best?
