Thanks for sharing. I ordered one of these this morning. I have a hotspot in quite a rural area but there are some good colonies 25-35km away which I hoping to reach. At the moment a few of them can hear my beacon but I'm not hearing any of theirs. My antenna has a very clear line of sight on top of a hill so I think it might be a case of too much noise. Hopefully, this will help it out.

35 km only? With 9 dBi McGill, the record I heard is at 169 km! No LNA, no any filter. Just Sensecap, 1 m LMR400 and that omni antenna. That station was present for few days, then vanished. But usual range is over 50 km.

The best way is to have equal setup at both ends. Its like trying to talk to a person who using a 50w mobile transceiver and you using a 5w handheld. You hear him, but he cannot hear you. So they need to get stronger connection to you. If they can get one node that is stronger placed at a ideal location then it would work.

Hi. Meine meinung, egal welche verstärker nutzt du, lohnt nicht. Die sind sehr teuer und dein hotspot bekommt weniger IOT weil, dann hast du viele DENIED witnesses... Helium hat jetzt bessere algorithmus um hotspots mit verstärker zu finden. Wenn du in HeliumGeek guckst, siehst du viel DENIED oder DENIED EDGE. Weil stimmt nicht RSSI und SNR nicht wegen verstärker... Solana netz... Kann eventuell lohnen wenn du sehr weit vom andere hotspots bist... Aber, ich habe gemerkt dass, wenn du manche hotspots hast(z.b. Browan Merryiot) die sehr langsam sind, dann, kannst du nix machen. Ich habe Merryiot und ist SEHR langsam in vergleich mit Sensecap(time gap against the beacon). Sorry, mein deutsch ist nicht sehr gut 😀 Hoffentlich du hast verstanden. LG, Daniel

@@xTunecci danke. Ich habe früher ein 5,1dbi Rak antenne und jetzt eine 8dbi Rak antenne. Ist, glaube ich, das beste. Aber meine antenne ist nicht auf dach(für clear line of sight). Ist zwischen häuser. Trotzdem, ich habe gutes empfang. Line of sight ist wichtig. 8dbi antenna kann mehr als 100km empfangen, aber 100km ist maximal für Solana. Und Rak ist eine firma, glaube ich, gute firma. Relativ billig, in vergleich mit z.b. McGill... Anstatt chinesische schrott(ich habe mehrere probiert 🤣🤣🤣).... 👍

Nice setup, but I would remove the saw filter, as the SenseCap as already as one natively… your only decreasing Dbi from the amp… Good thinking about the USB power, love it!!! Keep it going.

I've tested with and without saw filter! With saw filter i can hear hotspots 70km away! Without saw filter, just about 20km... Also, i need just a little boost! Too much is illegal...👍

Hi Daniel, I took a closer look at it now. RX and TX are boosted to the same extent. RX is ok, but TX strength, which in turn would lead to problems in Germany. how can i solve it ?

Hi. There are 2 possible solutions: you set gain to minimum(in my manual it says 5db) and you have 5db for TX and 10-11 for RX or you can set a higher antenna gain value in Helium App! In my case, i don't have invalid witnesses after amplifier install, but my antenna is between houses so i have a lot of reflections! Also in Germany! 👍

Hi. I ordered mine from Alibaba, was alot expensive than Aliexpress, but came with connectors and usb cable. Plug and play. You can build easy a cable! 👍

You don't need a saw filter if you have a Sensecap! In case if you have invalid witnesses, increase your antenna dbi in helium app with 3-5 decibels!

Hi. It depends on your location. My setup is with 5.8dbi antenna and tx on max and i don't have invalids! If you want to lower tx and rx(both), you simply declare in helium app more dbi(add how much you want to decrease for the amp). With a saw filter, already you loose 2.5dbi! So in my case, i have 8.5dbi(rx&tx) gain!

just to tell you your amp is the wrong way around, in is for antenna out goes to miner, the way you have it you will have never seen the blue tx light.

wrong connection, the saw filter must be connected directly to the miner and the amplifier between antenna and antenna cable

The amplifier should amplify after saw filter, this is how schematic of RF card from Sensecap is. I have a 5meter LMR400 cable, so 0.6db loss(not a big deal)! If i install it outside, next to antenna, i have to worry about sealing from weather(water and temperatures) and power(electricity)!!

Hi. You need to understand that the amplifier when receiving, it has to amplify only the required frequency! So, between antenna and amplifier should be the filter! It doesn't matter if Sensecap have inside filter! Sensecap have inside filter also BEFORE amplifier(LNA), between antenna connector and LNA! So: Sensecap -> Amplifier -> Filter -> Antenna! 👍

hello!!! I have a merryiot with a 6 dbi mcgill antenna My location is 10 km from a city and I think it works very little, there are many beacons that do not reach me... My hotspot is 35 m high and in a hill area about 30 m higher than the city... I have a gsm antenna at about 20 m that works at 950 mhz... but the hotspot has a saw filter inside Now I get about 0.2 hnt daily, but there is another hotspot in the center of the city that is at the same height as mine, but he gets 0.5 hnt every day. I had thought of using this system to duplicate Witnessed Beacons. It will work??? Thanks

hi. i suppose that you're on 915mhz!? this amplifier works, you can only lose 50-60euro if you buy such an amplifier and a saw filter. if you want to buy just the amplifier, only 30-35euro. i'm using it with saw filter, because i want to lose a little bit of decibels! my cable + saw filter = about 3-3.5db loss. from 11db for TX and 11db for RX, is ok! i receive and i'm being received at 70km away!

@@OMARATWI 70m high?! I'd try a low dB Omni (3db) It sounds like you could be overshooting all the hotspots. Or use a panel and direct it down into the coverage area. Easiest way to check is to tilt your current antenna slightly, you'll lose coverage from the side facing up but if you gain from the side facing the coverage area then you know the problem is you're overshooting.

Hi. Is illegal to increase the transmit power! But to increase the receiving power is not a problem. To power this amplifier over POE, you need an adapter that transform that power to 5 volt and at least 500ma or better 1000ma.

Why you put filter when sensecap have already one

Because the amplifier will also “amplify” the noise. Best to remove it before hand. No harm in having two filters. One before and one after. Assumption is the amplifier more than compensates for any insertion loss of course.

Hi. It depends on the network. Sometimes is not working well... But i can say that in my case is almost double... Haa increased my tx power, before i didn't had always max witnesses and on RX i'm starting to witness hotspots that i was hearing on PoCV10! And if you don't want gain on TX, you can adjust this! There is also the solution from Sorin(Crypto Mining & Trading) if is too much gain...
