Don't underestimate fucking with people's legs (and balance) in a street fight. It's similar to the ground game in the respect that they don't expect it and aren't prepared. Essentially it's where they're weak and a basic premise of fighting is to attack where your opponent is weak or undefended.

Gokor was never a threat to the gracies because he never fought in mma,except for 1 match v a bodybuilder non fighter.certainy he had the skills to challenge them but never fought.

@@scarred10 not true. The gracies knew Gokor before the UFC and they asked him not to fight in the UFC. Also Gokor was fighting in NHB before the UFC existed. The non fighter that you're talking about was a world champion on Muay thai and Judo

@@hasanc1526 there was no nhb competitions outside Brazil before UFC 1.I know rorion knew gokor for yrs before UFC since they were both in LA,however,they never asked anyone not to fight,they just didn't invite him.Gokors only pro fight was against a Mr maeda and he was neither a grappler or thai champion, he was an entirely useless bodybuilder with zero skills,look at the video on KZbin

@@scarred10 @scarred10 listen to Gokor's interview on the jiu jitsu times. He fought in shooto before the match you mentioned and even before the UFC there were a few illegal NHB events in America in the 80s. And yes the gracies specifically told Gokor not to fight in the UFC because they wanted to promote themselves. Finally Mr Maeda was a well documented Thai boxer, the announcers at the fight even mention it.

Very nice! i admire SEnsei Gokor , i have never met him personally cause i live in Greece,but there are no money to visit him and practice in USA....i would like to do my judo-wrestling there and learn many useful things...

I'm sure there are good Judo clubs in Greece though. The stuff shown in this video is basic Judo.

+brottarnacke only an expert can understand the quality of his teaching....the details make the difference, and there is no such thing as basic judo....judo is the same in every level,the quality of execution,the years of practising the details make the difference..

Gokor is the master of sweeping and all grappling. Gi or no gi he comes out sweeping. If he doesn't get you with a sweep then the sweep sets something else up.
