It's funny, but at the same time. I trained for like 7 years and was still a step away from the Black Belt. Stopped after tendinitis and covid (and I wasn't feeling it all that much in the end, so I just left it at that). I really wasn't rushing for it or anything tho, I just liked the recreation and discipline stuff, also it's pretty "light" and aerobic and even tho I wouldn't say I fight well, given I haven't had that much contact, I think it fits me.

For those who don't know, Bartitsu was actually THE original Mixed Martial Art back in the Victorian era, and definitely WAY ahead of it's time. Barton-Wright was probably the first person to publicise jujutsu in Britain, let alone to combine it with English boxing and French Savate (kickboxing) as well as some other arts. In short, he recognized the need to combine weapons, punching, kicking, and grappling for a complete self-defense martial art, well over 100 years ago. He even had actual Judo and Jujutsu teachers come from Japan to work as instructors at his club, as well as respected teachers of various European martial arts.

We could have had drunken boxing being invited by boxing, letwei (again) invited by muay thai, Sumo invited by Judo or BJJ, Japanese Jujutsu by one of the mentioned two, Tai-Chi by Aikido, Kempo invited by Krav Maga, Systema (again) by Kempo/Krav Maga or literally any martial art based on self defense, there could be Taekkyon invited by either Taekwondo or Capoeira, there is also Hapkido that can be invited by TKD. There are many more like Kali but i'll just wanted to give ideas
