Seems like a helpful video for neurotypical folks.

Nice video. Okay, now I can go back to mindlessly doom scrolling on my phone 😉. Just kidding 😄! Seriously, thanks for the information and the practical tips. I appreciate your efforts to educate and inform. I found this video to be very accessible to a layperson such as myself. Keep up the good work. Wishing you well.

What’s layperson
@Michael-e6d1i18 күн бұрын
@@feliciatran5667 A layperson or layman is someone that is not formally educated or professionally trained in a particular field of knowledge. I was using the term to refer to myself since I have no formal education or training in neuroscience or psychology, but I am interested in these subjects. Thanks for the question. Best wishes.

awww thanks, you too! Well a lot of us, people aren’t trained in mental health

@@feliciatran5667 You're welcome 🙂! It's true. Many of us are not formally trained in mental health. I believe that anyone with a curious and open mind can always learn. Take good care.

It seems that exercising focus is the basis for all meditations too, theoretically
@senseofmindshowАй бұрын
I would definitely agree with that, at least for the types of meditation I practice.

Hi! Do you have any videos (or plan to) regarding sound frequencies and brain activity? I'm specifically interested in learning what parts of the brain fire at specific frequencies and how you might affect cognition by listening to binaural beats. I feel like there is value in terms of increasing focus or alertness by creating something like a '40 Hz baseline' in the environment allowing someone (ADHD or depressed for example) to sync up with the sound. Anyway, you make good videos and they've helped me in the past. The serotonin miniseries was particularly valuable to me.

Truly amazing videos, continue the great job ! are you a neuroscientist or are you just a fan of how the brain works ? What is the best way to support your Channel
@senseofmindshowАй бұрын
Thank you so much! I’m not a neuroscientist, just a science communicator (with a background as a neurobiology lab assistant) who is very passionate about how the brain works. The best way to support this channel would be to become a Patron by going to Patreon.com/senseofmind.

@@senseofmindshowI was planning to make a video explaining the neural anatomy of ADHD... But I think you will be way more qualified than me to do that. I realized that the only real way to understand what ADHD is... Is to understand the neuroanatomy of ADHD, how does it work what are the consequences etc.... Otherwise you must always refer to abstract models of executive functions, like the one of Dr Barkley or Dr Brown, but they don't go deep enough... if you're interested to make that video, you can refer to this study by University of Groningen ( Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder 2024 ) which came out not long ago! I think it will bring you a lot of view, especially if you use a title like "stop getting scammed by charlatans this is what ADHD really is" for example... I think your channel is amazing, it break my heart to see that you don't have the view that you deserve. I would be really excited to see that video! You should consider it! ✊️

Omg why do you have to deal with learning the difficult and boring theories and doing painful practices as meditation to focus better? It's year 2024. Just get a prescription for Adderall. You can ride a car or bicycle to get to the destination; walking or running isn't your only option.
@asheekitty9488Ай бұрын
adderall has negative side effects n hes not just talking abt ppl with ADHD but attention, for every brain. Adderall dsnt always work either. "omgee just take drugs, like putting in effort and thinking is so last yearrrr"
