I had a Chihuahua for 15 years. His name was Cheech. I miss him every single day. He was 5lbs of awesome. Back when Myspace was King he had furiends from all over the world. The mailman couldn't believe how much mail and gifts he got. ❤Best little dude ever.

That's a really great name . Many years ago, I had chihuahua mix who was beyond loving even though she was mistreated by the previous things who owned her (she was rescue , a family of mine member saw her in a backyard and saw how the dog was treated , so she walked up knocked on the door and legit told the people she was taking their dog , that chihuahua was surviving off of 1 can of cat food a day that was split between a bunch of cats and herself , that dog would also be forced to search for grubs so she could sustain herself) either way we named her chi-chi (yep, we named her after a food product ) but her nickname was Cheech and she was genuinely special . That dog showed me how amazing chihuahuas in general are. That being said I now I have a pig named Cheech. It's a nice name that is not super common. And sorry for the long comment, whenever I mention cheech , I have to tell her story ,because all it took was one person to say/do something to save that amazing dog .

I think these "Ambassadors of Love and Loyalty" were great gifts from the Creator to teach us a grand lesson we could learn no other way. How we can miss them so much after their passing that we are loyal to their offspring/kin/breed for generations. I hope one day there is a provision granted to us so that we can 'buy back' or 'repurchase' the life of a beloved pet so that we can spoil them all over again. Meanwhile, I offer a toast to Cheech for accomplishing his mission.

My tiny little 4 pound Chihuahua girl doesn’t even look real but she sure does let everybody know she’s here❤️ chihuahuas are so attached to their Family, and they have fierce hearts. But my little girl has no teeth because when I rescued her, her teeth were rotted. It doesn’t stop her from barking And trying to chase any dog while we’re Walking. She thinks any street she’s on is her street. She wins hearts wherever she goes, people love her. I have a deer head Chihuahua And she does not seem deformed at all because she has a normal nose and normal breathing, and a perfectly formed body that has perfect proportions. Chihuahuas are one of the most ancient dog breeds from Probably before Toltec times in Mexico.

Our old chihuahua was similar in size and temperament. She lived to 18. Her non chihuahua ancestry was obviously mini pin and papillon. it's the whole reason he looks like a pug. chihuahuas aren't meant to weigh 8 pounds regardless of activity. my 12 year old chihuahua lays around all day and pretends like she doesn't have feet so she can be carried everywhere (ever since she was a baby lol) and still weighs 5 pounds. the reason is because we don't give her more food than she eats and don't give her dog treats (still gets the occasional piece of chicken/beef)

Part of the reason Kevin is "lazy" is that he's obese. It's simply harder for him to move and breathe with that extra weight - it's not hard to slim down a dog if you catch it early, and for Kevin, probably 1 lb is all he needs to lose.

I couldn't agree more, that's what I was thinking as well, those breeds need to be on the thinner side, I had a chihuahua and he was incredibly obese (my parents used to make him half a burger everyday) and he had a hard time doing anything. A vet may even suggest this cutie lose a 1lb or 2.

Had same weight problem with my Chihuahua Miya. Tried everything until last year. "Farmers Dog" food for weight loss finally worked. Took her 3-4 months. She went from 8 - 6.8lbs. Couldn't believe it. She had so much energy.
