Good observation. Yes I was thinking about going into the detail of acoustic cooling but I didn't because this series, Celestial Sphere, is usually about the basics and touches on many subject matters. The other series Sensing The Universe is where I usually go into more detail about a particular device.

Hyperspace pirate has an excellent technical description of a pulse tube cooler. I didn't understand it till i saw that video
