How do we feel Sens fans after day one of free agency? 👇

Perron could be sneaky good value. He should slot in as a decent replacement for Tarasenko. Amadio likely makes Joseph expendable, though I haven't watched him play much. Hopefully he is more consistent than Joseph, and as good defensively. Gregor doesn't move the needle, but he adds speed which I like. I wasn't expecting any big moves, so it was a decent day.

Not bad. The summer Steve is lighter this year than the summer of pierre.

Two veteran depth forwards and a legitimate RD. We got better today.

If we had a 1st rounder next year id be spinning the lottery wheel

Bad! Bad trades and no comment on FA. They feel just like overpriced bodies to fill a roster that is worse than last year.

Amadio is a good depth guy. Bro was great for the Knights

He’s gonna be one of those lowkey signings that becomes a steal. Watch

Gives us the forward depth and veteran experience this team lacked last season.. the AAV on Perron is a bit higher than I would like but I can live with it for 2 seasons.. No rush on Pinto.. figure out how much cap space you have after filling all the holes in the lineup and see if you have enough space for a bigger, long term deal, if not, do a bridge for him.. I'm sure they will get it done before camp... he can't afford to sit out after missing 41 games last season.

I think they move Norris to LW so I see their lineup looking something like this: Chuk-Stu-Giroux Norris-Pinto-Bath Perron-Greig-Amadio Gregor-?Ostapchuk? -?Crookshank? McEwan Sandy-Zub Chabot-Jensen Kleven-?JBD? Hamonic Ullmark Forsberg The fourth line and 3rd D pairing have some question marks, but with the above lineup you have nearly 5 million to sign Pinto. That's well within reason. I'd like to see an upgrade at 3rd pair RHD so you try and get Pinto at 4 and then have ~1.8 M available for an RHD to play with Kleven instead of JBD. If Crookshank plays higher in the lineup then Amadio can really anchor the fourth line. I do think Amadio's signing means they trade Joseph though. He fills the role they need Joseph to fill better for less money.

Imo, Norris' life as a hockey player is close to over, if not already over. This is a shoulder problem that doesn't seem to be going away. The only positive is that he has youth on his side. At 24, having your career plagued by shoulder surgeries takes its toll physically, and you can see it plain as day when he plays, mentally.

@@BloodandSoilNSoh I agree, but they are stuck with him for next year almost with a certainty. He couldn't have been bought out this year on the 1/3 buyout since he was not healthy in the buyout window and I don't think there is any way that you can find a team to take on that contract no matter how many sweeteners you add. Your best chance to get out from that contract is that he has at least one ok year. One year where he scores 25-30 goals (he would have been on pace for 25 last year if he stayed healthy) and then maybe you can find a team in need of a 2C that would take him on. If he can't keep his shoulder healthy there is a good chance he spends the last 5 years of the contract on LTIR and we have to sign a free agent replacement.

I agree with you on Norris, I mentioned this in my video last night…with his shoulder history it makes sense to start him on the wing for sure !
@Zayloxithe3 ай бұрын
honestly, as good as pinto is, if he doesn't want to sign a reasonable contract and the agent is playing hardball, let an offer sheet come in and either accept it or take the compensation or worst case let him sit out the season and watch the team win without him.
@scottmiller86173 ай бұрын
He has some leverage because of Norris' injury concerns. Otherwise, I agree with you. I assume they will move Joseph out and then sign Pinto
@Zayloxithe3 ай бұрын
@scottmiller8617 yeah but do we want a nylander situation where he waits till the deadline to sign contract and miss a chunk of season? Either let him sit or sign elsewhere and get compensation worst case
@alfiesmullet13113 ай бұрын
Pinto will be in the lineup for camp... makes sense for the Sens to do his deal last this summer so they have a better idea if they have cap space to give him a bigger, long term deal right away or bridge him for less. He missed 41 games last year, it will be very important for his career to not miss any time this season, especially if he signs a bridge deal
@carbb57603 ай бұрын
I’d really like them to bridge him. Stop giving out term to players who haven’t done anything yet
@alfiesmullet13113 ай бұрын
@carbb5760 problem is, if you bridge him 2 years and he gets 60+ points each year, his ask for a long term extension could easily jump from 5 to 7 mil aav
